There always seems to be a contingency with Lerman. He has to lose the weight first or something else has to heal. Copout after copout . If he really thought he could beat any of those names, he would do it now with no questions asked. Lerman your problem is you guarantee too many victories and they just dont come true anymore.

In all fairness to Don he will be better than he is right now after he loses weight, but I don’t know that he will be good enough to beat the others in beans. I know he would kill the others but boone is very special in that food. Dale Boone should be ranked in the top 10.

Uh-oh, wait a second. You guys probably have to get special permission from the Sheas to do this. There’s probably some forms you have to sign. Maybe they can line up a bean sponsor or something. Crap, now I’m starting to actually make sense.

Lerman doesn’t have to he owns the Record.I don’t see anyone doing a challenge to break it.

Lerman is the Record holder and until someone breaks it he can say what he wants about it.

I’ts the same redundant bullshit all the time and you people are either too dumb or actually believe what he says. Give him a teething ring or send him to creedmoor.

Actually, I think Boone and Mih are interchangable for second and third. if it ever happened.

Lerman, you set the record a while back. It is the measuring stick, I agree. But I gotta say, until you show something in 2007, I’ll put you at the bottom of the list. I just don’t think you have it any more. Until you prove otherwise, I’ll stick with my list. There are plenty of contests to enter, but you’re always trying to challenge others on you’re turf. Well, you don’t rule the playground anymore, and to get respect back you’re going to have to earn it on someone elses turf. If the IFOCE won’t give you a spot any more, try your hand against someone else. I don’t think you’d fare any better.

But, alas, this “challenge” will never take place, so we’re forced to wonder.

Since I assume it was just an oversight on your part to not include me in your list, count me in, I’d love to try break your record…This is just the platform I’ve been looking for to make sure it counts.

You know Lerman Boy King does have a point. The IFOCE does have a fairly good track record about being accurate in the rankings and his prediction is along the same lines. I’m not putting you down just to down you okay? But in the past year or so you flopped in dogs and jalapenos. What makes you think you can beat either of thse people in beans? For your sake, don’t push this or you will be embarrassed just like you were in jalapenos. And I have to say that if the contest involves more than 6 pounds or so sonya might just win the whole thing because her speed is okay but her capacity is better. Do you know what Im sayin? And for OJ’s sake I;m noit trying to be mean okay?

  19. Luther said

    December 19, 2006 @ 1:28 pm

Don I also think that right now pat bertoletti could easily beat any person in a contest involving only 5 pounds or less. His speed is like light. You dont even want to go against the young guns. Im just trying to help you keep your pride. You are a respected champion don. Dont blow that okay?

When Don set the record he beat Leon Feingold in Feb 2004 . With that said he might as well have competed against himself. Feingold was a so so streak eater that could surprise you at times but nothing to write home about. If the Shea’s used their head they should have made the Boone Lerman match in march or april of 2004 and it would have been very interesting. Instead they decided on lumberjack circuit with convienent travel accomodations for Dale Boone . Lerman was left out in the cold .Both eaters are a shade of what they once were so it wouldnt be much of a draw right now .

Hey Don, I caught the amazing episode of Eats Of Strength where you demolished 2.76 pounds of bologna. That was awesome! However, I didn’t see the episodes for all the naysayers on this blog who try to insult you. Did they not have episodes? Was Eats of Strength only for Champions? Is that why the naysayers spew ignorance and disrespect? Must be.

What are you guys smoking!! No disrespect to Lerman but Dale is the official recognized Baked Bean Eating Champion right NOW. They had several contests and Dale won them, what are we debating? People ask yourself this question can Lerman beat Dale in an 84 Ounce baked bean eating contest? The answer in my opinion is absolutely NO. I don’t like people to claim titles they don’t hold. Dale holds the Bean Title period When or if Dale is beat there will be a new Champ but we’ll have to wait and see.

3 different wights. 3 different champs in beans. I must agree with somthing Ronda sais. When the 84 Lumber had its inaugural contest it was 8.4 pounds and not 84 oz which is only 5 1/4 pounds. Sinya was the only one who finishrd and did in 2 minutes and 40+ seconds. I saw the pictures. The 84 lumber company knocked off 3 pounds because no one else had the capacity. I agree that boone’s a top eater but he cannot handle too much food or it will come back up. Also Janus could probably beat boone in many speed foods. Whey happened to boone in the US open last year?

dale may be the 84 oz champ but i hold the record for but i hold the 96 oz in 1 min 46 sec thats all i’m saying there willbe a day when all the bean champs gather and let off some wind.

Yes it is true Dale and I went at it due to excessive smack talk thats just how I get when provoked. We are both men and Georgians so naturally we won’t be at each others throats forever. Also I never claimed anyones titles. I don’t think Dale has either.

I am new to this blog and am naive to all the sayings of the various eaters. I don’t know much about the eaters, but have the following questions and observations:

    1. Most of the top 10 eaters as ranked by the IFOCE don’t correspond too much on this blog. Is that because they are just stuck up or because they just don’t want to reveal their thoughts to the world?

    2. Does this Dale Boone have records that aren’t listed at the IFOCE Web site? Or does he have AICE records that aren’t listed? From the way he talks on this site I would have thought that he would have by far the most records and would be ranked # 1 or 2. If not, why does he keep taliking about how good he is? Has he beaten Kobayashi? Why don’t I see him at Nathans contest in NYC? Why isn’t he in the news more?

    3. Why aren’t there more women in eating? I only know of a couple and Sonya and Juliet seem really great. When will Carlene be back? Also, why isn’t Sonya ranked higher? When I checked the Web site at the IFOCE I thought that Kobayashi, Joey, and Pat would all have many more records than Sonya but that’s not the case. What is going on here with these rankings? They don’t appear to mean anything.

If I’m way off base I’m sorry. I’m just trying to learn a little bit about this eating thing because I think it’s cool.

Welcome to the blog, Girl Fan. Here are the answers to your question to the best of my knowlege:

    1. Most of the top 10 eaters either have jobs and or/families or are college students and do not have time to post a lot on this website.

    2. Dale Boone has a record for eating 84 ounces of baked beans (which is not on the IFOCE records page) and he defeated Sonya Thomas in a baked bean contest when she was on a long winning streak. No American eater (except for a bear) has ever defeated Kobayashi. Dale Boone did compete in the 2003 and 2004 Nathan’s finals. Dale Boone spent a year in India recently which kept him out of the US news.

    3. I am not sure why there aren’t more women in competitive eating. I think Carlene has retired for good as far as I know. The rankings are based on recent contest results and not records, and Joey, Pat and Kobayashi have defeated Sonya more frequently in recent contests than she has defeated them. Some women have done well in restaurants’ eating challenges:

    Denny’s Beer Barrel – 11 pound 96er, Kate Stelnick http://katestelnick.com/, Lori Weiss, http://baxojayz.blogspot.com/2005/07/4th-of-july-weekend-dennys-beer-barrel.html

Rockford Corner Bar Chili Dog Challenge – Sharon Scholten http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:O1SYOtU4XBcJ:www.rockfordcornerbar.com/record.html Balinda Gould http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:lykN5EX5BLEJ:www.rockfordcornerbar.com/champ2.asp

Dale Boone built hospitals? The only thing that Dale Boone and a hospital have in common is that he spent time as a patient in the mental ward.
