With one qualifier left, it appears that at least one Nathan's finals streak will be broken. Crazy Legs Conti has competed in the last nine Nathan's finals and I believe that Eric "Badlands" Booker has appeared in all Nathan's finals he has attempted to qualify for since 1997. (Booker took a hiatus in 2007.) The only way both Conti and Booker could reach the finals is if they both exceed 37 hot dogs in Saturday's qualifier in Fishkill, NY.

Conti already did 3 qualifiers. Are the powers that be gonna bend the rules for him again? He had 3 chances to qualify and he blew it. He’s good for 20-21, that’s it. I have nothing against CL but enough is enough.

Booker lost to Feingold one year. You get an F in history.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much negativity on one site. I wish everyone was required to register before they could comment.

I am not claiming that Booker is undefeated in qualifiers (he lost earlier this month). I think Booker has reached the finals every year he has competed in a qualifier since 1997 (1997-2006, 2008-2010). If that is incorrect, I apologize.

He didn’t, though. That’s why I gave you the F. He lost to Feingold, and he was done for that year.

As i celebrate 14 years in the game tomorrow, Let me clear this up now. I’ve made it to Coney Island 12 times in my career so far. I Qualified for Nathan’s 1997,1998. Lost to Feingold in 1999. made it back in from 2000 – 2006, retired in 2007, back in the game from 2008 – present. Stay Hungry & Focused everyone and Take Care

Thanks for clearing that up, Badlands. You still have a streak of 10 finals reached when you attempt to qualify. Good luck on Saturday.

In regard to the 10:22 am link posted by Gavonne, Conti was shielding the camera because he thought Gavonne was going to goad Conti into saying something negative and post it on Seiken site. Thats why he asked “Is this going on your site “?

Crazy Legs is truly a part of the nathans contest and he will be missed at the final table. I don’t know when the rules changed, but the wild card used to be given to the person with the highest average of three qualifiers. OJ, who has the highest average of three qualifiers? I don’t think it would be at all strange to have two wild card spots (one for the highest average of three qualifiers and one for the highest non-qualifier).

It looks like there may be a real shocker waiting for these guys in Fishkill if the true ROY shows up to claim his spot

Joey I hope you eat 70 HDBs! As much as I respect Koby (though I think he is stupid for moving to NYC and then not re-signing with MLE), you are definitely THE MAN in the contest that matters most. Good on you Joey! You deserve to be #1 in the world.
I don’t know when the rules changed either, but that seems to happen quite often, unannounced. Just like Rookie of the Year, why is there no definitive time period during which people are considered. Is it 1 year, 2 years, or a year-and-a-half, and when does the window start and end.
I think they make it up as they go, which doesn’t do much for making CE a recognized sport.
