    Great timing on that poll OJ! Taking a snapshot of here and now I had to go with Cardboard Shell. (How the hell she came up with that moniker is beyond me!)

    However, I’m inclined to believe that every person mentioned in the poll would be ranked above Suzy, in an unbiased ranking system.

    If former competitive eater Liz Canady was still eating (competitively), I’d put her atop all the poll choices.

    Oh, by the way, “The Mouth That Roars” is a great title for a show featuring Dale Boone (lotta mouth, little action).

    I am actually pulling for Suzy and hope she does very well. I just think it’s so Boone-ish to push her to make a false claim. She has obviously been brainwashed.

    Instead of one of the top three females calling Suzy out, I wish one of them would call Boonie out, the “#1-ranked” eater in the world, as they each could put a hurtin’ on him.

    Of course, Sonya has done that many times over, so I wish Stephanie Torres would do the honors, since Juliet’s contract wouldn’t allow her participation.

    Rhonda, Suzilla seems like a good kid in many ways. Speaks well. Good tv presence. Cute to boot. It’s too bad she had to lie about being a better eater than every competitive eater in the world except Boone, Kobi and some dude no ones ever heard of. If it wasn’t for that I think most people, including competitive eaters, would be pulling for her and her show about eating. As was the case with M v. F. She chose this path and needs to be called on it. People don’t like being lied to and they particularly don’t like being lied about. Oh, and potential commercial sponsors won’t be too happy sposoring a show when the star of the show turns out to be a sham and not what they paid for. When “The Mouth that Roars” turns out to be the “The Mouth that Lies,” well that’s going to be a problem. They are already having to move her promotional video around because of embarrassing comments relating to her resume.

While you’re at it, look up Sonya’s record against Suzilla. Oh wait, Suzy never ate against the top woman eater in the world, as Sonya is referred to not only by her promotion people but independent sources such as ESPN, CNN, all the major networks, etc. Boy, those are going to be some tough interviews for Suzy if she lasts that long. And, what’s up with your celebration of racism? Good people chanting USA! USA! against Sonya? Sonya’s proud to be an American and definately more American than you or anyone else that has a problem with her Asian heritage.

    1. Pulled Pork BBQ in MS: Boone reversed trying to keep up with her.
    2. Crawfish Jambalaya in DC: Boone reversed and he puked in Sonya’s hair.
    3. Nathan’s multiple times.

    There’s a chance we might see Stephanie Torres at next year’s Derby Deli West Coast Hot Dog Eating Championship. If Dale Boone receives another invite, you’ll get the showdown you’re looking for. But, those are two hypothetical cases.

    Stephanie proved she’s good for 25-29 hdbs in 10 minutes. Considering the cast that appeared at this year’s event, such a total could have placed her in the top 3 or even 2.

    Lots of action on here since my last visit. Poll? As said before, unless there is a record of eaters competing against each other, it is moot. I would agree about Sonya and Juliet being one and two regardless, not sure about Torres because even if she did eat 25 to 29, that is only one contest. And she will not be going up against MLE eaters again. Edible? Do not know, not enough data yet. Larell? Well, it seems to me that she is like Crazy Legs in more ways than one. She is terrific for the sport, and even if other women may beat her, they do not compete enough or have enough records or enough enthusiasm to represent CE. My vote is with Larell for #4 or even #3. CE is not only about amounts, you need people to present it to gain fans. Do not know enough about Edible, how long she has been eating etc. She has to prove staying power and eating power for at least as long as Larell has been participating. Just convinced myself, voting for Larell for #3.

    There’s a lesson to be learned with this whole Suzilla/Boone thing. For years I new Boone had his “ranking” system naming him and a bunch of other jamokes as top class world eaters. I dismissed it thinking nobody besides maybe Boone’s mom would take it seriously. Then along comes some idiot cable studio that sees Boone’s crap and actually takes it seriously and gives this Suzy gal some show based on a bunch of bogus information and yes, lies. Now competitive eating is threated to be viewed by the general public as a farce. There’s a reason why the Bickel’s of the world need to be called out in distributing false misinformation about themselves that at the time may seem harmless and even humorous in its obsurdity. Not only for the eaters that they lie about, but for the integrity of competitive eating. My hats go off to someone like Laurel Marie Mele who recognized that and for standing her ground agains Grace Lee at Nathan’s this year. You may remember LMM stood up to Lee’s cheating and claims of being undefeated several months ago. If LMM didn’t take that action, today some idiot studio might of actually believed Grace Lee’s story and next thing you know we’re watching on Lifetime “Grace Lee Portrait of a Eating Champion.”

    Yes Cha Ching, I had forgotten about LMM and Grace Lee. I did not think about what you presented previously very carefully but now it seems the strongest case for somehow preventing similar things from happening. There are too many opportunities for self-promotion these days. Every Grace Lee or Suzilla or Boone of Bickel and others lessen the image of competitive eating and help to make it what some believe that it is, not serious, a farce, and far worse. Your last line is so true. And all of this did not stop Grace Lee from continuing to get whatever it is that she wanted. The Grace Lees and Bickels do not go away gracefully. They take their character with them, always trying to create more opportunities for themselves. More MLE eaters should strive to put the best face of CE out there and stop fighting among themselves, only applies to a few but a few rotten apples spoil the bunch, that is a fact. And most people do not follow CE like the people who post here. This is a very small group of fans and eaters overall.

    Hmm & Cha Ching – thanks so much guys (girls? lol) Appreciate it!!! What I’m thinking is that its very likely that Suzilla’s claim to #4 may very well go unchallenged. Lets face it, outside of the CE world not many people know who’s who in the world of CE. Yes, most people know The Black Widow even if they don’t know her real name. And more than likely Juliet as well. It stops there. As awesome an eater as Stephanie Torres is, I’d bet that most of the world has no idea who she is. The same goes for myself, Maria, Shell, etc. etc. Who really knows who we are? So in Suzilla’s case, who’s going to dispute what the network is spouting as truth. I’m thinking she’ll just enjoy the fame while it lasts and make the most of it. I said that Grace Lee was a business woman….she promoted herself and got noticed; mission accomplished. I believe that Suzilla is just as savvy and shall ride this as long as she can. I really hope that she proves herself as a terrific eater!!

    Just maybe… The baggage and carnival side show aspect of the Sheas business (mle) made a Boones farm league ce’r appealing for the show. Let’s face it the Sheas want a piece of the action one way or another if any of their ce’rs (workers/prisoners) are involved. That is how they make money. Also a likely the main reason they decided to not use a MLE ce’r is due to the league having Seiken on their rankings.

    He is a virus and any affiliation to him can only turn out badly. He’s got like really bad mojo, seriously nasty.

    Mle is never a thought in using their eaters in TV shows. Shows come to WLOCE. For they are world wide.We see now that mle tried so very hard to do contests overseas but are now gone. WLOCE is a house hold word

    Larell I admire your humility and the fact that you tell it like it is in such a discreet way. CE can use many more people with similar assets.

    I too wish the best for Suzilla as an individual, and I guess it takes all kinds, but when marketing (4th-ranked sompetitive eater) trumps the truth (an average competitive eater), something is wrong and it will backfire.

    At least Adam Richman made no such claims and that’s why he appealed to his fans (IMHO). He came across as an ordinary person with extraordinary desire, and he was charming. People could relate and rooted for him.

    Once people start questioning Suzilla being ranked 4th in the world, and they will when they start googling names of real competitive eaters, her followers will drop like the win percentage of the Washington Redskins in the second half of the season.

    Dale, Google Sonya Thomas or Joey Chestnut, then Google WLOCE and count the hits.

    Googling either of those two names will result in more than triple the hits of your entire league.

    If that’s being well know, you don’t expect much, and perhaps that’s one admirable quality you have.

    Dale, so the show’s producers have been out promoting this Suzilla thing for the last several weeks and I can’t even find one major story on the show’s expected airing. Sounds like reporters aren’t buying this whole WLOCE fourth in the world sham. Why would they? All the major publications and media outlets have all done stories recognizing the MLE rankings as the standard. It appears the marketing team for this show is not the smartest people that have come down the pike, pissing off the entire eating community, which could of been one of their most loyal viewers if they just stayed away from that ranking thing. Jay Leno — big fan of Joey and Sonya. Jimmy Kimmel — didn’t Sonya appear on his first show ever. Morning shows — loves MLE eaters. ESPN — doing a story on Suzy will be tough considering Nathan’s on the fourth. Also, the show’s inevitably going to run into some sponsorship issues since so many major companies and their associated firms have contracts with MLE and branding relationships with MLE eaters. Pepto’s parent company — nope. Nathan’s — well that ain’t gonna happen. Pizza Hut and it’s associate companies — sorry. Armour — I can go all day here. How many companies does WLOCE have contracts with — huh?

    It seems that Boone is absolutely as dumb as he sounds. That hillbilly redneck thing is no put on at all. Some people said it was just his thing for the public. He cannot write one literate sentence, and yes, despite what some people say about being literate, yes, it is important. Your meaning will be presented in the way you present it. MLE not worldwide? I guess India is the center of the world and remote jungle places with hidden tribes of MLE eaters are places like Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Japan, China……..hmm……didn’t Boone go to Alaska once? He peed in his stall so many times that MLE knew he was bad for business. Other eaters knew it too. So Boone, go for whatever you want, we are glad to be rid of you.

    BB I don’t think Boone’s getting under anyone’s skin. It’s just that we enjoy expressing our feelings toward him, and we cherish such a reason to do so as the one before us.

    I too don’t like slamming the poor girl, but if she’s going to go before the public and claim she’s #4 in the world, then she gets what’s coming to her, to an extent.

    I know with reasonable surety that Sonya or Juliet would not go public and claim they’re # 2 in the world when they’re not. That would be a slap in the face of lots of eaters.

    So, actually, I hope DB keeps up his antics. It’s very cathartic for many of us to be able to vent. 🙂

    Beautiful one, I agree with Rhonda. You sleep with the dog, you get fleas and Suzilla’s in bed with the worst dog in competitive eating. Besides, Suzilla and her show have every opportunity to defend themselves here or anywhere else. I suspect however, being a lawyer, she realizes you can’t defend the indefensible. Also, I don’t think Dale’s too pleased with the exposure his girl has gotten regarding her credibility. I’m sure the show’s producers who Dale sold his girl to are questioning him right now about not getting what they paid for now that they’ve read a few of these posts. And, believe me every tv producer has his people check any and everything that is written and posted about their product including what is said on EATFEATS. So, I for one have no qualms about making the U.S. television industry understand who they are dealing with in Dale Boone — a liar and fraud. Hopefully Dale will go back to promoting “Who Wants to Be a Goat Hearder?” back in Eastjesustan. On a side note, and I mean this, it’s good to see you chime into this post with insightful information. Particularly your vast knowlege of CE’s prior years’ history.

    When you Google Suzilla these EATFEATS strings show up (Currently an EATFEATS string is the sixth item that comes up). TV production and show PR offices are always doing Google runs on their product to detect trends. Believe me what’s being said here does not go unnoticed, and if they are smart they will begin rethinking that whole “fourth in the world” thing and try a different promoting approach as was suggested by earlier posts. It ain’t working. However I’m not sure there’s much they can do about at this point. There’s probably too much in the can right now that a complete promotion reversal fix would look worse than the problem. This Suzilla show is a textbook example of how not to promote a new show about eating by attacking other eaters through your on air personality. Adam Richman was a classic example of lauding other eaters (This guy’s got a great appetite!) or providing no comparisons what so ever to what he did compared to MLE.

    The show is concept is so idiotic. According to the promotional video Suzy’s going to eat a hoagie against the owners of the hoagie shop. Well, she’s the self claimed number four eater in the world. Does anyone think she’s going to lose to the hoagie owners? Besides it’s her show. After about one episode of her beating a bunch of jamokes this is going to get real old. Without the tension of legitimate eating contests what’s the incentive to watch? Yet, if she does lose are the hoagie owners now the third and second best eaters in the world. All hail the hoagie owners! Let’s give them a tv show! Wow the more you look at it this Suzilla the Mouth that Lies thing the more you can see Dale’s ham hands all over this debacle. Not very well thought out promotionally or concept wise. Man, this show is going to go down faster than Dale’s mom at free beer night at the Elk’s Club.
