The blog for Philly Burbs has a preview of Saturday’s Nathan’s qualifier that will be held at the Independence Hall Visitors Center. “Humble” Bob Shoudt, Russ Keeler, Pete Miernicki are listed as expected competitors along with the husband and wife team of Olivia and Reginald Pascual. If Sonya Thomas does not compete, it would break a two year winning streak at the Philadelphia Nathan’s qualifier.

Some interesting omissions…no Wing Kong, Steakbellie or US Male. Hmmm, could they be heading west that day?? They certainly would not list Miernicki and exclude those three if they were going to eat in Philly.

Steakbellie: If you notice I have you doing the duece despite the dos minutos docking from 12 to 10 minutes. Don’t let me down.
For everyone it is so hard to guess. I would say many eaters could possibly be +/- 5 hot dogs. The new time limit, limted hot dog experience of some and some people improving with others not makes the predictions tough. Please let me know what you think.

Hall has both winners right – Juliet and Humble Bob. My biggest change…Keeler and Subich both at 22, married couple gets 14 total, at most.

I am using Super Paul’s krystal ball. Honestly I don’t know who is going where. Some are the names I get from press releases and the others I just take an educated guess. I am all about stats and following the sport and have been for years. Most of that crap is just floating around in my head all time.
