I highly doubt Randy can beat Kevin Ross’ crown candy record but, best of luck to him.

Great work Randy! That’s a nice win. I think a lot of people were in doubt. If I’m ever around, gotta see if I can go for broke and drink 8 malts. Topping Ben is no small task, but that’s one of my favorite foods. I heard Ben turned blue as he started the eighth. I might have to think warm thoughts.

Ben who? Kevin Ross is the Crown Candy KING!
on a serious note, best of luck Atlas… Ben… err I mean, Kevin drank them straight from the metal malt cup. He looked like a smurf after his 7th. It was one of the coolest eafeats I’ve ever seen next to Ben doing the Kitchen sink in Walnut Creek in sub 8mins and Pat Berty swallowing a Krystal whole on youtube.

I dont know why people constantly bring up the name Ben Monsoon. Like Ed Krachie he wants nothing to do with the sport at all but you people seem to think that by reviving his name he will come out of the woodwork and compete

It would be interesting to see who can do 2 of the 6lbs shakes in Chick and Ruth’s Delly in Annapolis, MD. I did 1 in 9 mins and the second one in other 9 mins, I had to wait 10 mins to have the second one ready, they said it was impossible and they didn’t want to get sick and vomit, I told them bring it and if I feel sick I will stop before that, I proved they were wrong and it is physically possible. According to the owner Ted Levitt each one is made of half gallon ice cream and half gallon milk so the total is 1 gallon ice cream and 1 gallon milk, I am sure you guys can do them and faster, who would want to try? (That is more than 10 milkshakes at Crown Candy Kitchen) http://www.chickandruths.com/ate.html If you search my name you will find my picture after I finished 2.

@Alexis
I would be down to try that challenge. Now there’s just the little matter of me finding a reason to go to Maryland. 🙂

Alexis, let me start this by saying congratulations on drinking two of Chick & Ruth’s Delly’s shakes in a total of 18 minutes.
That said… I’m not sure the proportions stated by Ted Levitt are exactly correct. A gallon of milk weighs around 8.6 pounds; a gallon of ice cream (in volume) weighs considerably less, because air is whipped into it when it is made. Different ice creams (premium versus low-end) weigh differently due to how much air is whipped in. Go to your local grocery and pick up a pint of Ben & Jerrys or Haagen-Dazs and compare how much it weighs to a pint of the store brand.
In addition, when the shakes are made, even MORE air is whipped into the mixture. I had one of the monster shakes at Chick & Ruth’s, but I had them weigh it and the weigh the glass afterwards. The net weight of one of their shakes is around 5.3 pounds; two of them would be 10.6 pounds, or about 1.23 gallons of milk, if you just drank the milk.
I would be interested to see how much the milkshakes at Crown Candy Kitchen weighed each.

That is a good question A. Nonymous, I only repeated what the told me in an email after I drank 2, the only thing I can tell you is that I downed two of those big glasses, it would be good to know the weight of the Crown Candy Kitchen shakes, 5 of them are almost a gallon in volume but you are absolutely right about weights and air and volume, it is all relative, so who knows but what I am pretty sure is that 2 of those glasses are more than 8 milkshakes of the Crown Candy Kitchen, saying that there is air and the weight is different, etc., if you drank 1 of those you know what I am talking about! I had an old video of mine drinking a gallon of mlk in 2 mins, of course that was before Chestnut, Kobayashi and other guys downed in just a few seconds, I have a good capacity but I am not that fast. By the way all my respect to Naader and Randy!

Well Naader, let us know how it goes if you ever go, I think you should search more challenges around so prepare a trip to that area (DC, VA, MD, etc) so trip is worth travelling all the way from the West Coast to the East Coast.. Too far I am not in the US to be able to try more challenges, if I go back for a vacation I will let you know where so we can possibly meat and try some quantity challenge, pizza, pasta, burgers are also some of my favorite ones! and of course ice cream and milkshakes!

Alexis, if the volume of the shake at Chick & Ruth’s is supposed to be a gallon, then you did drink more than 8 Crown Candy Kitchen shakes, which would only be 1.6 gallons (volume). But it would be nice to have a weight measurement for the Crown Candy Kitchen shakes for comparison. As I said, congratulations on a commendable job.

Thank you, anyway, it would be interesting to see who can drink 2 of those giant shakes and even more!
