Brandon “Da Garbage Disposal” Clark hospitalized after house fire

STLToday.com reports that Brandon “Da Garbage Disposal” Clark was hospitalized after trying to extinguish a fire in his Cahokia, IL home. Camp Jackson Fire Chief Christopher Davis was also taken to a hospital after experiencing a medical emergency fighting the fire. Clark’s daughter, Aryonna Clark, escaped the fire without injury. (BND.com article) update A KMOV news video has an interview with Clark after he was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon. He will need to return for treatment to burns on his arms and hands.

The Arch Cafe in St. Louis will hold a toasted ravioli contest on June 1 awarding $1000 to the winner. Entrants must be residents of Missouri or Illinois and must post a selfie with a Louisa Foods product.
The duo of Brandon "Da Garbage Disposal" Clark and Kyle Hanner finished Cici's 28 inch pizza challenge in St. Louis in 11:26 to beat the time of Michael Jenkins and Casey Hentzen by 3 seconds and take the national lead.
Hopcat will hold fry eating qualifiers at its 17 locations (mainly in the midwest, but also Port St. Lucie, FL) on January 19. Winners will receive a $500 prize package and the chance to compete for a $2000 prize in Ypsilanti, MI in July. The chain previously called its signature side dish used in the competition "crack fries", but will changing the name because it was considered insensitive to drug addicts.

In the women’s contest Sophia DeVita will face Marlene Wigginton, who took a year off for pregnancy. This could leave the Naperville, IL women’s qualifier wide open if Sophia DeVita wins.

Erik Denmark is the only male entrant who has been mentioned. George Shea mentioned the controversy from his last qualifier in Washington, DC where he was accused of putting a hot dog in his pocket.

Joey Chestnut will be in attendance and serve as the judge.

Mary Bowers will seek her first victory in qualifier with multiple women when she faces off against Taylor Coombs. Marlene Wigginton will not attempt to threepeat the women’s qualifier due to her pregnancy.

Randy Santel reports that Molly Schuyler was the first person to finish the Pointersaurus challenge at Pointer's Pizza in St. Louis by herself, a 10+ pound pizza intended for pairs. Her time was 16 minutes. Molly is the third all female group to finish the challenge; Stephanie Wu & Stephanie Torres and sisters Pam & Jennifer Cooney did it previously.
