In the women’s contest Sophia DeVita will face Marlene Wigginton, who took a year off for pregnancy. This could leave the Naperville, IL women’s qualifier wide open if Sophia DeVita wins.
Erik Denmark is the only male entrant who has been mentioned. George Shea mentioned the controversy from his last qualifier in Washington, DC where he was accused of putting a hot dog in his pocket.
Joey Chestnut will be in attendance and serve as the judge.

We have a problem. There are 12 qualifiers left. 7 have been held. Matt and Joey automatically qualify. But at least 15 men have yet to qualify. Some people are going to be denied a place:

There’s going to be a problem May 27, when there are four MLE contests that same day (Nathan’s-Charlotte, Illegal Pete’s, Pepperoni Rolls, Æbleskiver), but only three available announcers; George Shea, Richard Shea, and Sam Barclay. They might have to beg Mike Antolini or Ryan Nerz to come back.

I must be a sore loser for second place but I am still tryin’ to wrap my head around someone from Seatlle which is over 2,000 miles away entered in the St. Louis regional. I am from Illinois (Cahokia aka East St. Louis) which is 6 miles away. All in all I had fun for my first event and will definitely come back next year with more vigor

It’s simple, you eat the most, you win. Some guys are in for sure. Some have no chance. Some are maybe and will fight for scraps. Plenty of spots, cohen qualifed! that’s a low bar. Fat people should be allowed in.

There has been no northwestern qualifiers in the past 15 years, so Erik Denmark had no choice but to leave his region. There was only 1 qualifier (Vegas) in the Pacific or Mountain time zones this circuit.
There will be a suburban Chicago (Naperville) qualifier on June 30

Conti wants to qualify so he can orchestrate his after party. They both work hand in hand . If he doesnt qualify his party becomes pointless because hes not actually part of it . Its happened a few times and did not sit well with him. Finding a qualifier where he can barely eat 19 hot dogs is not going to be easy but i am sure the Shea brothers will find an easy one for him

I tried to go to Napperville iL but they wont let me in because I wont sign the MLE contract. I am very very very new to this so I disregard the negative comments since I do not know what is goin’ on half the time and all the names on here I am unaware of. I just like to compete and like to challenge myself. I don’t really know if it is a good decision to sign it or not but Ima go with my gut (pun intended) and wait for a year at least. I just started doin’ challenges or 9 months ago and my fist contest 1 year ago. Wanted to try and get my name out near St. Louis first and who know that might be where it stays lol but I am happy with what I am doin’ and I support the people that know where am comin’ from.

Yeah I am not signin’ and not tryin’ to battle outside the battle either lol, just tryin’ to meet different competitors and enjoy it while I can. Like I said I just started, I don’t plan on doin’ this too long but Ima push myself until I fell I can’t anymore. I like the sport and the atmosphere of the contests and challenges.

Oh I am prepped and about to head out the house to go. I was gonna rent a cookie monster outfit but people said I might traumatize the kids if I take the head off and I would have to to eat lol. Record I thought was 17 but I called and they told me 21. I am shootin’ for 24 OR MORE. I thank the cookies are 3oz each and have 6 minutes to eat how many I can. I wont have much time to be countin’ but at 15 seconds each I might pull it off. I really appreciate you help and this site. I look past the negative peop[e and focus on the ones that have the same interest in life as I do, to just be a half way decent citizen lol. Thank you again and have a gr8 day unless you already made other plans lol.

Good luck in your contest. These smaller events are a good way to gain experience and get a few wins to boost your confidence. Don’t sign MLE contract until you feel you are ready to compete at a consistently high level.
