Saratoga Nathan’s hot dog contest August 18

The events calendar for the New York Racing Association reports that a Nathan’s hot dog eating contest will take place at the Saratoga Race Course on August 18. The first prize will be a year’s supply of Nathan’s hot dogs. It is not stated if the contest will be a qualifier for the 2009 finals. Registration will take place at the race course before the contest.

    Has Saratoga not ALWAYS been a qualifier for the following year’s Nathan’s?

    don lerman made this contest what it is today and he would be totally offended if he were to make a trip to saratoga knowing that if he won he would not get a spot at the table in coney island. For a years supply of costco hot dogs it’s just not worth it.

    The Saratoga Race Track is not open on Tuesdays and this event is not going on
