Sonya commits to Krystal finals
SBTW.com reports that Sonya will be able able to attend the Krystal finals Sunday:
I didn’t want to mention this again until I was absolutely certain, but I have been able to come up with a work around regarding my full time job, so that I will be able to compete at the Krystal Finals in Chattanooga, TN this Sunday, 28 Oct 07, which will be televised live on ESPN at 2:30 PM EST. As such, I am thoroughly excited, except for the fact that the World Champ, Takeru Kobayashi, will be unable to defend his title, due to the equivalent of arthritis in his jaw. (I hope he recovers in the next few months, because that’s no fun.)

I’m just a bit surprised Sonya is going. I really wanted Juliet to be the only female there, even though I do respect Sonya very much. Maybe this will be her final contest until next year.

They both are just going there to loose anyway. Another Krystals another loss far back so why even go. Maybe after enough embarrassing losses in a row theyll both just give it up and then things can be the way it was intended in the first place. Also by the way when DonMosesLerman, a real mans man returns hell wipe the floor up with the both of them and that will be the end of the line for them or if chow hound could somehow compete against them hed do the same thing. I really miss not seeing him in more competitions because he is one of the best ever.

You know what would be fun?? A pre-final seniors, “masters” Krystal eating contest – make it only four minutes long, invite all “retired”, or over 50 (that way I’m in) eaters, except Rich, of course, who made the real final.
Then, we get Badlands, Lerman, Cookie, Carlene, etc., all in a format that would pay homage to history, and let the eaters who “set the table” be a part of what has become, arguably, the greatest eating contest yet…..Who’s with me?!?!?
