Spike TV non MLE competitive eating

A clip of an eating contest from a Spike TV program which is not the Saint Patrick’s Day Chowdown can be seen at http://youtube.com/watch?v=qWW9OKmp5bA If you are not satisfied with how Spike portrayed competitive eating in the Chowdown, this clip featuring a “hurl cam” shows that it could have been worse.

    What a slap in the face Spike has done to the MLE.
    I believe they will do more harm than good.

    I agree with Mel. Those guys do not represent the spirit of competitive eating. I’d say they were just geeks… but I think geeks have a certain entertainment value, at least to some. No entertainment value with those guys. I find this consistent with the spirit of some of the stuff I’ve seen on the new MLE site, the stuff that pokes fun at people who should be respected, such as Lefevre. Competitive eating is tongue in cheek, yes, but you can push that too far. Where are MLE and Spike going and what/who will they sacrifice along the way?

    Great point BK. I would also have to add The Locust to that list of irreplaceables, for where in the world can you go to find anyone within 10 years of his age who can even approximate what he can do?

    What he does would be the equivalent of Jack Nicklaus consistently giving Tiger Woods a run for his money.
