    In 1987the remaining Handwerker family members sold the business to private investors. Currently Smithfield owns Nathan’s hot dogs as well as a number of other pork and beef brands including Ekrich Smithfield and farmland Smithfield falls under the parent ownership firm WH Group here in China. July 4th 2022 press release. So this confirms Nathan’s is Chinese owned. Manufactured in the USA but owned by the CCP.

    I have tried to start training because I want to enter this contest as my first ever eating contest. I’ve done a few food challenges already.

    When I do the water training that I’ve seen people suggest, I get very lightheaded and don’t feel good for hours afterwards. One time my vison seemed to get blurry somehow…Do most people experience this with water training? Should I use Gatorade or iced tea instead? I also do big bulky food like cabbage and lettuce for stretching the stomach, but I heard using water is the best low-calorie way to build capacity. any tips from ppl on this forum?

    @12:36 please stop doing this type water training immediately.

    Disclaimer – I’m obviously not a medical professional but you should consult with one before doing this type of training. At the very least (and this is a worse option than consulting with a professional) do your own research on this topic thoroughly.

    You’re experiencing hyponatreima, which is a low concentration of sodium in your system and it can be fatal. You cannot drink that much water without supplementing it with liquid or powder sodium or an unhealthy amount of salty foods. It is not worth it for any eating contest and especially for a local one where the prize may be only $100 or so. Be safe and keep things in perspective.
