If he doesn’t compete I’m not Rhonda Evans! Mark my words he’ll be there ready to dog it!

Rather widely? OJ, maybe we weren’t looking at the same pic. Koby couldn’t even get the circumference of the entire dog in his mouth. Joey could have probably gotten two in there.

Can someone explain to me the importance of the weigh in for Nathan’s? This isn’t a boxing or wrestling match. Does anyone actually attend this event?

I heard Crazylegs on Mike & Mike this am. He was awesome! Hysterically funny, on target. He should be given Imus’ job.

Yeah, that pic of Koby “opening wide” looked pretty pathetic. He even looked bad on the scale. I’ll be rooting for him (because I always do), but it looks like it’s Joey’s contest to win.

To answer Carey’s question, the importance of the weigh-in is to get stories like this. It’s a media event mainly. Predictions from the eaters, some pictures, a little smack talk. That’s about it.

I’ll be able to log into ESPN insider later on this evening and I’ll try to record it. Can somebody host it for me if I get a recording?

I don’t think you need to be an insider to listen to it.

I was at the weigh in today. Carlene Lefevre turned her head the other way when i said hello to her. I believe another former CE got the same response. I wish her well regardless. I am concerned about Ron Koch . He looked as though he aged 20 yrs. He looked 80 instead of 61or 62. I am not saying this to be funny . He is a good friend and i want to see him healthy. I didnt realize he was even there until i saw paramedics tending to him after he felt dizzy and semi passed out. At the insistance of Juliet Lee i took a pic with her and Dale Boone only to find out he had his middle finger on the top of my head. If you see a pic of myself and Juliet you will know i cropped him out of the picture. Should be a fun event tommorow.

EIther way, if Koby eats or doesn’t eat. Joey will be the new champ, he already is actually, because he has the record for HDB’s, but I believe Koby won’t eat tomorrow, if he does… he’ll stop a few minutes into the contest and say he can’t go any further or else, like I said, he just won’t eat. He had to show up to New York to at least show that he is not punking out completely, at least he has the decencey to show that he is injured and that he is still a potential to comepte tomorrow, but it will suck for Joey if Koby doesn’t eat because this injury will be an exceptional excuse for him to lose the belt due to injury. And it will not give us a chance tosee Joey actually beat Koby when he is 100%. If the guy still can’t open his mouth that much today, it’s probably not going to open much more by tomorrow and be 100% ready.

Regardless, if that is the issue, Koby better get well and prepare for Krystals and/or next year’s Nathans. Or else thats the end of Koby (he’ll probably retire for US competitions until he get s better) and then it will be on to the new era of Joey Chestnut VS Patrick Bertoletti every major contest.

If anyone wants to make some money go to http://www.bodog.com.

Right now the over/under for winning total is 57 HDB’s, with a payout of (-130). For all you non gamblers out there, this means if you bet the OVER, you can win $1 for every $1.30 you bet that the winner will eat anything more than 57 HDB’s. So a bet of $1.30 will leave you with a total of $2.30 in your account after Joey eats 58+ today. The max they will let you bet is $200, which I did without giving it a second thought.
