Wing Kong is a great guy – Glad he won….Brian, Nate, Rich, Nick Giffen, Hungry Sisters, Facebook and Myspace people who showed up – wish I had more time to talk with you all…but, It was hard to talk with my mouth full, and my real sisters demanding I get them some hot dogs after the contest!
I look forward to Atlanta, and my next pathetic totals against Buffalo Jim, and Shredder, maybe Rich Foley again, it’s all good!

People chill. The videos are currently loading onto youtube. It wont put to rest any of this controversy though because my friends took video of me in my first competition so they missed whatever may or may not have happened at the end (I have no clue, I was all the way at the last spot on the table). I had a blast, I met Micah, Nate, and Brian and they were all very great people and I wish all of them the best. For me, I want to see both Nate and Brian join Micah at Coney Island. Those three were awesome!
PS – I’m totally hooked, and I look forward to putting up bigger totals in the near future. I had plenty of capacity…just need to work on speed and technique.

It’s Ironic that Subich anonymously accuses others of cheating. Kong puts up consistent numbers and his 23 is more than believable. Why is he trying to screw Kong again like he did back in Philly? He’d try to screw Hall again but 30 HDB’s is alot harder to stuff into cups than 20. If Subich spent as much energy training as he has cheating, he’d be Joey Chestnut.
Remember the year they had him wear the Helmet Cam in Coney, and it showed on National TV that his cups were full of dogs and buns? Seriously, this guy has never truly eaten more than 15 dogs.

To “Lemonade” and all the other haters:
A. I haven’t accused anyone…especially Kong of cheating. In fact I was the first to congratulate him on his win and pat him on his back (literally), and I’m sure he’d tell you that. You can also watch me standing right next to him applauding his efforts on a youtube video, if I was a sore loser, I could simply have walked off stage, as numerous eaters have done through the years.
B. No one “screwed” Kong in Philly. I finished third there, and Kong finished 4th, Sonya took first, Shoudt took second….the only thing either of us got was a free t-shirt and a belly full of hot dogs. As for the “alleged” cups full of hot dogs, I would certainly have to be a magician of the Copperfield caliber to hide upwards of 8+ whole hdb’s in just several cups…so nice try. There were also alleged pictures that year that showed cheating of some sort…I’ve acquired all the pics, and am more than happy to share them…they show absolutely nothing.
C. As for trying to “screw Hall again”…Hall is a great eater, certainly better than I am now. I was lucky to catch him as he was just coming up. As for that allegation, Hall stood right next to me during that contest, and at its conclusion Rich Shea stood directly in front of both of us…looked at our plates and cups…shrugged his shoulders and said to Hall…”He got you by a quarter hot dog”….there was also supposed video or photos there…and guess what…nothing ever turned up. And as I knew he would, Hall made it to Coney Island that year as well.
D. As for the Helmet Cam at Coney…no doubt I had debris in my cups….however if you watch the video again, you’ll see that during the last 5-6 minutes of the contest they never come back to the helmet cam…because they were focused on Joey & Koby…as they should have been. So of course it wasn’t going to catch me cleaning out almost all the debris from my cups.
E. As for never having truly eaten more than 15 hdb’s I believe I ate 20 this past Saturday, even more cleanly than Kong or Nate did…I even went so far as to tell Rich Shea feel free to examine anything I have on the table.
F. So to all the haters, liars and cowards who post on here anonymously, grow some balls, and get a life….and if you dare, call me a cheat to my face….and then we’ll see if you’re able to eat with some of your teeth missing.
G. Good luck to everyone who has made it to the 4th this year, and I look forward to competing again!

Nice post Brian! Obviously being new to it all, I can’t speak for anything in the past, but I do know at Charlotte that Nate and Brian were congratulatory of Wing Kong, and all three of them were great to speak to about the competition. I was having a beer right after the competition and Nate and Brian came up to me and encouraged me to keep participating and congratulated me on my 11 HDB. And Micah was fantastic with all the competitors as well.
I just wish that Nate and Brian are able to win qualifiers elsewhere and join Micah in Coney!

this is actually kind of absurd that someone would accuse WK of cheating. I’ve seen him eat more than 23 two times a week for the last 2 months. The only times I saw him eat less were in the actual first two qualifiers. The fact that he was so consistent was the reason I didnt even bother to go down to Charlotte.
Nate and Subich were probably on either side of him and would have noticed if he was spitting in his cups for sure. They were hot on his tail and wouldnt have allowed for that. No way.
