Brockert & Ollis will continued to be ranked by MLE even though an unknown female in the undercard schooled their numbers…………so many more deserving people who are not in the top 50 and these guys continue to get housed by amateurs. Hopefully LA Beast will be ranked after this weekend and get one of these clowns out.

Seiken isn’t even full of corned beef because he did not compete. What’s his corned beef comparing himself blah blah. What a royal cabbage, most people here would have no idea why he is even in this conversation, but they will find out eventually.Talk about gas.

There had to be less meat in the sandwiches this year for the numbers to be so high. Edible wouldnt have been able to eat 7.5 in 2011 and Joey wouldnt have done 20

Wrecking ball is a clear cut example of a rookie brought up much too quickly . He should have spent some time in the minor leagues with the aice before making the big jump to the majors. Another great eating prospect ruined because he lacked patience

Stonie beats B.O.B again. Bob once again is shell shocked. Too funny. Erik & Morgan better take advantage now since Stonie is still under 21. He’ll easily put up 40+ Nathans this year, Eater X watch out. lol

Brian Dudzinski although we have to find a shortcut for his last name, is a legend in the making. 9.25 sandwiches proves that he belongs with the elite of the elite. He can only get better . Wait till cheesesteak

Everyone had the same size sandwiches so numbers may not be able to be compared to last year but the outcomes are the outcomes in terms of order of finish. Edible more than proved herself and now there is another woman for Nathans from the amateur division. Stonie proves that there are many more possible top eaters out there, yes, he is the force, wait until he comes of age. Would this be Joey’s 6th Nathans win (think it is a given, no Sherlock needed)? Could Stonie give him a run for the 7th straight Joey plans? Seems likely.

The mistake many of you guys constantly make on this site is in writing and speaking about competitive eating like it’s a regular sport. These comments about Brockert being brought along too quickly, the comments about Stonie challenging Joey…none of these really stand up to more thoughtful and informed consideration. Brockert’s situation is not akin to a college quarterback drafted into a terrible situation and saddled with impossible expectations. Brockert is an individual whose only job is to eat a lot of something quickly. If he can’t do it, he can’t do it because he can’t do it, not because he’s standing at a table next to the wrong people listening to wrong organization’s emcee. Stonie is a very good, but we’ve seen some very good guys guys come up very quickly, and none of them has succeeded in challenging Joey for the Nathan’s title. Also, take these Stonie/Bob results with a grain of salt. Bob lost to Adrian too.

Good point. Get it into your head that this is not a sport like baseball or basketball. Either someone has done one hell of a job brainwashing you into thinking it is or you refuse to believe that its a freak act by comparing it to real sports . Three cheers for those that were successful in screwing with your intestines so that other morons will think of you as a god

What a sharp difference from last year. Jon Bello who was the last to finish in the money received $250. Anyone that finished below him got $200. Everyone went home happy. I guess Candy Man bought himself some candy with $20

Seems to me like Stonie and Bob are very similar in abilities right now and are great competition for each other. Hopefully they will compete together soon again becuase I would like to see that match up again.

What’s boggleing me right now is why the totals this year are so incredible in the higher teirs. Were the sandwiches easier this year or are these guys just getting better? It’s pretty impossible to tell without being there.

Amazing job guys, another world record beat.

Stonie beating Tom Gilbert was just a taste of what was to come. Tom is one hell of an eater. I put Goose at 7 or 8 with MLE. Tom setting the world record in meatballs was awesome.

I agree with the order of finish cross comparison comments. If Joey does 25 in one contest and 20 the next year and all the numbers seem to be screwed, then the actuall conditions of the contest made it this way. Unless everyone miraculously decided to put more or less effort and ability into eating in one contest vs. the other contest.

By taking a few people that in multiple contest can almost create a psuedo control group situation.

Amatuers seem to be getting bashed around here, i don’t know why. Amatuers are the lifeblood of eating, they are often both fans and particpants. without them all contests seem to lose a bit of reality. there are good amatuers and bad ones. Many pros can often be beat by amatuers and are.

What I find unfair about the comments regarding amatuers here is that Rebecca was the BEST amatuer in the field yesterday. That is the pick of the litter of a bunch of them, of course a winning amatuer is going to beat many losing pros. The numbers lines overlap sort of speaking, they have a different mean and median but there is indeed amatuers that are better than the worst pros. I would be confident that anytime there is both and amatuer contest and a pro contest using the same food and same rules, the amatuer winner beats nearly half the pros (give or take).

The Wrecking ball had good results at corn on the cob. I didn’t see the corned beef, but I remember having trouble once with that food. I ate corned beef in an amatuer contest last year and it didn’t go too well. The wrecking ball will still beat many amatuers. if his two biggest local contests are corn on the cob and corned beef and he is good at one and not good at the other, at least that shows some balance.

No way, Seiken could have easily done 7. The table enders that finished dead last should not call themselves Major League eaters

  32. anonymous said

Lets face it without Seiken presense at the event , it lacked the proper media coverage son. A full featured video and article would have surfaced almost immediate after . A video might surface but who the hell wants to watch a video of the contest 7 to 10 days after the fact?

What kind of crap is this? LA Beast finished 8th and he gets nothing ? Throw the man at least $200 for eating 8 sandwiches. Last year that would have been $750 in the beast pocket. Some people got screwed on account of restructuring the cash payouts

I know my first year there it was 100 and 100, and I was unable to attend last year so I can’t speak for last year last year’s contest or what participants got…this year they got 100 and 100 and I thought toojays went above and beyond the norm and I was impressed. So when I’m impressed with a sponsor I thank them and let others know.

Anon 12:06: Other sponsors have been quite kind to eaters in other ways so I can’t say anything bad about them and I surely wouldn’t put it here or on some other website. I’m sorry if you haven’t received any of those gestures of kindness, maybe it’s because you didn’t ask nicely or you’ve said negative things about them in the past, I really don’t know because I can’t tell who you are…for the record $100 gift card and $100 cash still equals $200, even if you are using the old math or the new
