Gideon Oji won the contest with 16. BJ Alexander appears to be the name of the female winner.
The women’s winner ate 14. I do not think Sonya Thomas made the contest.
Clayton State Sports has an article about Gideon Oji. If he qualifies he might be the tallest finalist with a height of 6 ft. 9 in.

This will be the first Nathan’s qualifier for Sonya Thomas since 2011. She has not exceeded 37 hot dogs since 2012. The 27.75 hot dog she ate at last year’s finals was the lowest since her debut year of 2003.

It is with sadness that I wish to inform the Competitive Eating community that Ronnie Hartman will NOT be signed to any type of WWE contract. We suggest his nickname be switched from DizzleFlex to FizzleFlex. Because he certain has fizzled out. 13 HDB’s?? Hell, even Seiken can eat more than that!

My father Vince McMahon spoke out of turn. We would like to extend a contract to Ronnie “FizzleFlex” Hartman. However, it will be in the WWE Women’s division, since he wasn’t even able to beat an unranked, unknown female eater at his qualifier. We trust that “FizzleFlex” will be willing to wear a wig and make up. After all, he has already embarrassed himself twice this year at the competitive eating table.

Excuse me, both my father Vince McMahon and my brother Shane McMahon have spoken out of turn. Initially my father refused to offer Ronnie “FizzleFlex” Hartman a contract and then my brother Shane offered him a contract to compete in the WWE’s Diva Division.
I regret to inform “FizzleFlex” that he will not be offered a contract to compete in the WWE’s Diva Division, but rather we would like him to compete in our new WWE Midget Wrestling league. Maybe after his atrocious showing in Charlotte and Atlanta before that he can gain some confidence beating up on a few vertically challanged individuals.
If things go well for “FizzleFlex” maybe some day he can be on the “Undercard” of Wrestlemania!

This new kid OJi from Nigeria is a pretty solid hoop star with Clayton State Univ He also applied for the NBA draft in 2016
