Comparison of baked bean records
With Micah “Wing Kong” Collins qualifying for the Wing Bowl by eating 3 lb 5.33 oz of baked beans in 43 or 48 seconds on Wednesday, I thought I would see how that performance compared to IFOCE record times for other amounts of baked beans:
Micah Collins 53.33 oz / (43 or 48 sec) = 1.24 oz / sec or 1.11 oz. /sec
Dale Boone 84 oz / 82 sec = 1.02 oz. / sec
Don Lerman 96 oz / 108 sec = .889 oz. / sec
Sonya Thomas 134.4 oz / 167 sec = .805 oz. / sec (thanks Luther)
The last two performances are in the IFOCE records. Dale Boone’s best performance is usually listed as 84 oz. in 1:52, but he ate that amount in 1:22 in Dawsonville, GA.

I thing you need to go back to math school for your calculations. (Your decimal is wrong for Sonya.) Also, as much as I might hate to say it, I don’t think any of the people you mentioned would come close to Sonya in a Baked Bean contest of 8.4 lbs or more, which is how the 84 lumber baked beans started out. If my memory serves correctly, the company receded from that amount because she killed Cookie and all others in the original event. Cookie had a reversal when he realized Sonya had eaten the beans so quickly.

Here’s an idea. Let’s Have Micah, Dale, Don, and Sonya eat for only 5 minutes and let’s see who eats the most baked beans. Then we’ll see who the real baked bean champion is. Wouldn’t it be awful if a girl ended up the winner? The sad thing is, I think Sonya would win easily. At least that event would shut up a lot of tlking and produce results. But I doubt if Dale, Don, or Micah would have the balls to take on such a challenge. Just ask them.

I’ve seen him do this stunt in the studio(43) and in my kitchen(46). It’s pretty freaking impressive and he was chomping at the bit to do 6+ lbs in the studio. I talked him out of it because it’s not worth the reversal when it’s just a qualifying stunt. Obviously his ave time would drop with the greater qty, but now I really want to see what it would have been.

Ya’ll can hate on Dale about this all you want but the fact remains that Dale is THE BAKED BEAN EATING CHAMPION OF THE WORLD.
I don’t understand why people hate on him for winning if you don’t like him for his personality that’s one thing but Dale has skills.

my baked bean evetr was ”the titlle rally’ there wa s6 lbs to be eaten I went like a bat out of h–l with speed like no one ever saw in any contest , people watching said that they never saw any contest done with such furvor and intencity my baked beans was the first such contest it stands as the yard stick that all others are measured give me credit were credit is due .don ”moses” lerman

Don I’m not taking anything away from your title rally baked bean eating contest. Everyone there was blown away. What I’m saying is that Dale is the Official Baked Bean eating Champ. People seem to Hate (Dislike) him for that but what I’m saying is people are mad for the wrong reason. Dale has skills at the table, point blank.

Dale is a top baked bean eater. But we have 3 different amounts with records — 8.4 lbs, 6 lbs, and 5 1/4 lbs (84 oz): Sonya, Don, and Dale. They are each the best at that given weight. But the rules were enforced differently for each contest. Don, Dale, nor Sonya have nothing to prove.
Dale keeps harping on the bean contest because that’s the best and one of the only claims to fame he has. Still, like Bubba says, he is talented in that food. But once stomach capacity kicks in, once he gets north of 6 or 7 lbs, Dale baby is dead in the water. Anybody who has been following the sport for longer than 2 years know what I’m saying is true.

Boone Been in this for 6 years . And many we mean many records to date. How little many of you know .Pelmentis Where done with all the big eaters there.He has many awards.and helps tons
of other eaters to get better.

I have the utmost respect for all three of the eater mentioned above; all of them are great eaters. If we can setup something to settle this, I’m there. I would love to see how I stack up against a few of the greats…
