Joey practices for asparagus contest

Joey Chestnut has posted a video to his yardbarker blog of him preparing for Saturday’s asparagus eating contest by eating 3 pounds of asparagus in 3 minutes. The video is also available on youtube. Joey makes the following prediction for the contest:

Pat is a great eater and whenever I get lazy he pulls off an upset. The chances of Pat walking away with a win in this contest are slim to none. I will let you all know how the contest goes down.

    Thanks Joey I only care about you and Pat because only you two are worthy enough to be considered pros. You two will never lose to anyone else and I think all other eaters should politely ask for the right to pay at least $100 for your autograph, but it is probably special enough just for the table enders to include the so called legends to just be in your presence. You and Joey are showing that the so called legends of earting were just obstacles that needed to be removed so you two real pros could show the world what a real legend is. I love watching you eat. You two really put everyone else in their place. Thanks fore being so great and for knowing how great you are.

    You are the icon Joey. The competitive eating world totally revolves around you. When you and Pat leave it will totally collapse because whats left is pond water.

    How can you say its an upset Joey when Pat beats you almost half the time? The one upset is you.

    Also, though I do believe you should be the favorite in Asparagus, I’m pulling for Pat. You need to be taken down a notch or two. Your head is a bit too big.

    Did joey win the last two aspar. in a row? If that is the case than it would be an upset.

    That’s right. Joey has won asparagus the last three or four times. Pat has never beaten Joey in asparagus. Joey was not talking about only asparagus. Joey was talking about all contests.

    I always have an image of Joey in my head, next to an image of Kobayashi, when I want to compare and contrast what makes a champion great. Koby has all the right things.
