How long will Pat Bertoletti remain an up and comer? Didn’t he eat with Cookie Jarvis when he was competing?

It seems as if Wing Kong will own every baked bean record in the near future. You Ok with this Don?

The name Don Lerman and baked beans are forever inseparable, especially if you’re downwind of the two.

I just viewed the food networks my life in food. Thank god it was only 30 min. I do not think i could have sat through 30 min more of Juliet Lee’s broken english or the two darlings of the ifoce Crazy Legs and Eater X stealing the entire show as usual . Who had the final say in editing the show? Pretty sure it was not the food network. It must have taken countless hours making sure certain faces were omitted from the show during the contest segments. Imagine going out of your way and i mean really going out your way to edit certain eaters just for spite ? Mind you these eaters spent time and money to show up when they could have been someplace else.

Good to see Crazy Legs sporting the cool looking, trendy Badlands Booker shirt. WHOOAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Thankfully the show did not show bonus coverage of Juliet in Nashville eating Krystals

OK show, not a lot of new stuff on the Food Channel tonight. Best part is seeing who gets their 5 second face time – Wing Kong, Steakbellie(even a speaking part!), Badlands, Pat from Moonachie, Humble Bob, Arturo, Dr. Bigtime showing off his chest, quick shot of Gravy’s fab headgear. Not a real compelling show, but any attention is good attention.

To be quite honest it would have been a bonus if we got to see more or Bigtime’s chest instead of being subjected to crazy legs old news theories on competitive training

Who got edited “just for spite” ? Who would care and why? Maybe the Food Network was just interested in certain eaters that they think their audience would care about = marketability. The producers aren’t out to get anybody – they’re trying to sell a show. They couldn’t care less about you or anyone else that you think was overlooked. These particular eaters sell shows. Regardless whether you like them personally, face it – they’re the shining lights of competitive eating right now. Be happy there’s any interest at all.

Look, you have to be a dope or living in denial to believe that food network had the final say in the edit. The Shea gave sonya some airtime because they felt paranoid that sonya might leave competitive eating. They knew exactly what they were doing. If it meant a two second face shot of someone they did not care for they would make it their business to edit it out of the show. The faces that they focused on were the ones they intend to promote and that is the whole thing in a nutshell. Sour grapes you are pro ifoce , pro janus, pro crazy legs, and a total asshole

Let me be the first to say “great job” to all the eaters involved in the Food Network Show last night. I enjoyed it and hope there’s a chance to see it again sometime in the future.

Actually, I’m a little disappointed, but not too surprised, that I’m the only one to congratulate them. It’s unfortunate that the “why not me?” crowd is the first to speak up when it comes to Pat, Legs, Tim, and Juliet. They can’t seem to post their kudos fast enough on this board when someone they like has a good sneeze.

As the Joker said, “Why so serious?” Face it, not everyone who enters a contest is going to get a ton of media attention. These four clearly do, and that’s wonderful if that’s what they like. If you’re in CE for the money or media attention, it’s been said over and over that you’re in it for the wrong reasons.

Adnor you are a moron . Not only do you know jack shit about CE but you have not been around the sport to understand what others have gone through. The Sheas used to post on IFOCE.com whenever an ifoce member was on tv. They stopped doing that several years ago because too many people were complaining “what about me” and rightfully so. Don Lerman was one of them . That you can take to the bank To watch the same faces over and over again is not only sickening but downright annoying. Nice to see juliet lee but they had to throw sonya in there so it makes the shea look like we still thinkin about you little darlin. Give someone else a chance for god sake .Janus , crazy legs Janus crazy legs, . Shove it up your ass food network.

In all honesty, the real truth to the reason why CrazyLegs and Tim are the main focus of most IFOCE media is due to the fact that they are both highly intelligent, quick witted, entertaining, and loyal to our sport. I anticipate much more from the two of them in the years to come…Congrats to them and thanks for the positive vibe and press they bring to competitive eating.

    Anon 11:29,
You are correct on at least one count. I really don’t “know jack shit about CE” and I freely admit that. I’ve said on at least one occasion that I’m basically a newbie casual fan. I don’t have any illusions of being any sort of an expert on the sport, as you apparently are. That’s why I continue to ask questions, and have been called basically every name in the book for doing it. Thanks for adding to the list. That’s one of the reasons I can’t understand why so many some of the know-it-all posters are so bitter and hostile. I’m pretty clear about why the best of the best don’t waste too much time here, though.

Rather than simply answering a question from a “moron” or trying to help someone understand, the standard response is typically a vicious personal insult or profanity. Is that really the spirit of CE? I really thought this was sort of a fan site. Maybe I misunderstood – maybe that’s what real CE fans are like. Actually, it sounds more like a pissed-off rant site for eaters (or non) that have some ax to grind with either another eater or the IFOCE or AICE in general.

You’re right – I obviously DON’T “understand what others have gone through.” Maybe you could enlighten me rather than calling me names? But I understand name-calling is much, much easier. Listen, most people in competitive sports “go through” a lot during a career. I used to date a pro ball player and routinely heard stories that were absolutely heartbreaking. I’m neither an eater or a pro athlete, and I know that I’ve been through some damn tough stuff in my career, but I’m also woman enough not to whine about it every chance I get. Just because you compete in something doesn’t mean you’re going to get the same treatment that the ones at the top of the sport enjoy. Most sand-lot ball players figure that out pretty early on. The real professionals recognize it, keep it to themselves, learn from it, and move on to try to improve. Sorry I’m such a “moron” but I’ve lived enough life to at least figure that much out.

You are reading way to deep into things anonymous at 9:20. I doubt it’s like that at all. I’ve never seen Rickey Henderson’s picture with Sonya, probably because it wasn’t available on Flickr until now.

Take a look at Stevie’s post above. She has a lot of good, commonsensical information that we all could reflect on.
