A press release announces that the Nathan's finals will be televised on ESPN through 2017. The 2012 broadcast will begin at 3pm eastern and last one hour and coverage of the women's division will be included. Paul "Joey Chitwood" Page will continue as announcer.

    What else can we give the little darling women that they don’t already have.? They can qualify with less than 20 with minimum 4 or more. Now they have media exposure as well. It’s a mans world? Yeah right

    i give up, you sound like a jelious male eater who can’t compete with the better guys and make it to the table. I agree with the women’s leauge, maybe not the equal prize purse (you get paid for skill, not for showing up), but as most other sports have instituted, the women’s leauge gives equal opportunity for ‘attendence’. I’m tired of hearing guys complain about the women getting into the finals with low numbers.

    Hey I give up. ESPN makes the decision to cover the women’s contest and I think they no more about publlic opinion and interest then untalented loser like you. Your so tough? Go get some guts and step up to a table and try to beat Sonya at any eating contest like these brave women do. After Sonya kicks your ass, leaves you crying in fetal position in the corner, will you then leave your neanderthal, uninformed opinions to yourself? Which highly doubt because if your opinions of women are so dopey I’m sure you don’t know when to stop and keep underscoring what idiot you really are.

    In all honesty, until Joey won twice over Koby, I would have said that very thing, without hesitation. But seeing Joey win over Koby twice in a row, I became convinced that Koby would never top Joey in HDBs again. I might be wrong about that too, for all I know, so there you have it.

So, you don’t like the Nathan’s womans contests, okay. However, the majority of the world likes the Nathan’s womens contest as demonstrated by the top sports network in the world’s decision to cover it. So, either you, the Dumbass in Chief (DIC) is right, or the highly paid, educated and professional demographics department at ESPN is right. I’m going to have to go with ESPN on this one DIC. Are some of the women hoping the odds could be wrong and they can beat the top eater, Sonya? Yes, I believe so. And, one of the other reasons among many reasons every competitive eater competes is for publc attention — did you just figure that out and come up with that all by yourself? Brilliant. Now, are you going to continue to write in here as I accurately earlier predicted and further enlighten us to what a dope you are with your writings on the obvious? Or, are you going to probably do the first intelligent thing you ever done and stop writing in public and go back to scratching out your thoughts on your basement wall?

    Todays generation of women want to be men in every way.Women want equal pay to play basketball , baseball and just about everything else..The problem is if they dont wear bikinis nobody will come..If there was a women only hotdog contest in Coney would anyone come?

    Guys, “coverage of” does not necessarily mean “in its entirety.” It may, but we won’t know for sure until someone with knowledge of the broadcast gives us more information. Last year’s broadcast also included coverage of the women’s contest. ESPN showed highlights, and highlights are coverage. Read these things like lawyers would, guys.
