I was in Maui this past week, and was surprised to see a picture in the Maui Newspaper of Pat Bertoletti in the Shreveport Grits competition. We are originally from that area so I brought the paper back, and would like to mail it to him. How can I get in touch with him?

Did anyone notice the last sentence of that “detailed” write-up of the waffles contest on the IFOCE site (seriously, if you can’t report full results, at least report all the money winners)? Here it is:
“In other competitive eating news, retired gurgitator Edward ‘Cookie’ Jarvis reportedly mowed his lawn today.”
Do you think that’s a jab at Cookie (i.e. “he ain’t doing s**t now”) because of his anger about the MLE DVD or do you think someone was just trying to be funny?

Mega, Rich Shea writes those stories. It was his cute way of saying that Jarvis is boring
Anonymous said
October 8, 2007 @ 2:07 pm
Not as boring as Joey Chestnut. By the way, how many times does Pat have to beat Joey before he is moved in front of him. Even Tim Janus has finished ahead of Chestnutts. Joey was ranked ahead of Koby at light speed after Nathan’s, which was Koby’s only loss in five years in the states. This is a joke right?

Like Nathan’s, Krystals needs to be two contests. There needs to be the real FINALS, featuring Koby, Joey, and Pat, as that’s all everyone’s focus will be on anyway, preceded by the contest involving ALL OTHERS.
Why not? I bet it would be well received by the viewing public. Think about it.

At least one eater from each contest should get the full, official results and post them on eatfeats(The IFOCE will not post full results), follow the example of Wild Bill. I’m sure there are many out there following the sport who would like to see the full results, not just the top end. Hopefully, someone reading this will take note…
Thanks Wild Bill!

USMale. . . I think you definately deserve some props. You are a good eater, I read some things about you in Wing Bowl. . . much respect. My hat goes off to you.

USMALE I wish you well. We need a new winner. I feel sorry for El Wingador. I really do. Not only do I think you can beat him this year, I think both Joey and Pat will totally embarrass him in front of his loyal fans. He’s not even in the same league as those two. yet, (Wing Bowl) wings is the one food where he stands half a chance at just finishing close enough to them (or most any other of the top dozen or so ranked MLE eaters) to avoid total humiliation.
Anyway, that aside, I think Wing Bowl is about partying and having fun, and the competition is just icing on the cake. There’s nothing like it in this world!

Mega Munch is on the money. Thousands actually do arrive the night before to tailgate and drink the night away before the doors open around 5am. I thought I saw Mega sitting there last night in a folding chair with some cheap beer and a few cheesesteaks.

Howdy Brad. I saw a clip from waffles on a tv show recently; I think it was VH1. I believe it was a show called Best Week Ever, where random C list celebrities sarcastically comment on current events and pop culture.
