While Man vs. Food: Nation is now on hiatus for the season (if not permanently), a "woman vs. food" show will debut later this month. A facebook page announces that the first episode of Suzilla, The Mouth That Roars will be televised on Discovery's Planet Green network on December 20. The program will star Suzanne "Suzilla" French, who is billed as the #4 female competitive eater in the world.

    Who ruled Suzanne “Suzilla” French the number four female competitive eater in the world — Mr. Suzanne “Suzilla” French? I can think of more than five woman who are better eaters than her. One sit down snack with Sonya would leave her shaking, crying, and lying in the fetal position in the corner.

    Say what you wish, she is going to be on TV and they can say whatever they want. Apples and Oranges, she isn’t MLE, they control what their eaters can and cannot do. So these comparisons can continue to be part of the conversation but really, they are basically moot. If what Boone wrote is true, and it seems that it is, it is WLOCE coming up on tv. If something clicks, maybe there will be more. If it tanks, goodbye and on to the next wave.

    Hmm, I was just curious as to who ranked her? I was concerned that it was another person, trying to cash in the honest hard work of the real female competitive eaters who earned their title and rankings through actual competitions. If this girl thinks she’s in the league of Sonya, Juliet, Laurel Marie, metaphorically or actually in the MLE, that’s not fair to Sonya, Juliet, Laurel Marie, etc. Allowing people to believe that she may have competed with these girls is not fair and should be called out. I just wanted to make sure that wasn’t the case. If she’s ranked by the WLOCE that’s fine. But, frankly that probably only means she once beat Dale’s mom during a visit to Arby’s one night. Let’s face it, ranked by the WLOCE is not the most respected title in competitive eating. Half those people in the WLOCE rankings don’t even want to be on that crummy organization’s list or even know that they are. I guess this girl considers it to be an accomplishment. But I doubt she would last five minutes with the likes of Sonya, Juliet, Laurel Marie, etc., and I hope that’s not what she’s suggesting when she says she’s ranked number four in the world and not mentioning WLOCE. TV deal is great, I just hope she doesn’t start out lying to her viewers about her accomplishments.

    Hmm, I too would also like to see who this show, French, or WLOCE, thinks are the top three women in the world? OJ, any help? I hope she’s not referring to Sonya, Juliet, Laurel Marie or this show may be hearing from MLE lawyers. But honestly who else could French, this new show, or the WLOCE be referring to? Those girls and Stephanie are the top four in any rational judment, and Marie Edible is seeming to get the hang of it after her last finish in turkey.

    Absolutely OJ, all terrific women eaters. But if they’re promoting this show using Sonya, Juliet or any of the girls names without their permission isn’t that a big no no. I hope a reporter asks her in the invevitable interviews that French is going face, well who are the women ranked ahead of you since your show is claiming you to be the number four women eater in the world? I mean it is a logical question. And, I also hope that someone asks her, how can you be ranked ahead or below these women if you never ate against any of them? The promotion people for this show are clearly using this ranking thing in their official promotion material to give this French woman some cred. If her story falls apart, well lets just say it’s not a good way to start out with reporters or viewers. OJ, you may have broken a little story here. OJ, you better watch out, we may find out who you are when we see you as a talking head some talk show about tv reality show credibility. Just kidding. Nice work.

    It takes so little googling to find out who the real eaters are. . .you’d think people who wanted to exert the time/money to create a television show would do the slightest bit of research before choosing yet another person who will fail most challenges.

    i think they chose her because she’s has the following going for her, which NO ONE ELSE can compete with:
    1. hotness
    2. intelligence
    3. humor

    i’ve seen this chick school everyone else in all 3 of these categories. she is made for tv. THAT’S why they chose her. Oh yeah, and she can eat a shit ton…

    Tosh, I certainly applaud Ms French’s humility in keeping these wonderful qualities to herself. It sounds as if she has been doing both the American public as a whole, as well as the CE community itself, a disservice by not allowing us to see these goddess-like qualities for ourselves.

    Perhaps she will pleasure us all by participating in and perhaps even dominating one of the Nathan’s qualifiers in 2012 so she can continue on the national stage on July 4. But, then again, given what must be an overwhelming and heartwarming sense of humility, she probably would not show out of concern that her presence would totally overshadow that of the other competitors.

    Please … forgive me … I’m really getting choked up right now, and can’t continue. I need a tissue.
