Why would Hall say he is disappointed with 6th place at Nathan’s? He finished 6th place. I know most competitive eaters would die to get 6th place at Nathan’s. What an ingrate.

Seriously? Ingracious?
Think he was going the route of he was looking to improve upon his qualifier totals, kinda like everyone else.
Cheers.

I can understand Hall very easily. He, Sonya, Bob, Rich, and Pat all finished well off their 10-minute qualifier totals. I don’t know why, but I would say a good possibility was the extra pressure they likely put on themselves to finish closer to … or rather, not so far behind … the totals put up by Joey and Koby.
When you’re a world class, top 10 eater, it has got to be a pressure-cooker situation to at least come within 20 dogs of the winner, which not one person did except Tim, and he was still off by nearly a dozen-and-a-half. But that doesn’t mean most eaters didn’t do well—-25, or 29, or 30, or 34 HDBs is still 25 or 29, or 30, or 34 HDBs!
The results just underscore how magnificent Joey and Koby are in dogs and buns. After all, Koby and Joey’s margin (in regulation) over most of the competitors was greater than the total amount those competitors were able to eat individually. That’s dominance!
That’s why it would be crazy to even invest a second in the thought to rank anybody ahead of Koby except Joey, regardless of how often the man competes. But that’s another issue.

nah, Hunt’s a class act. He was only dissappointed that he didn’t keep his normal pace.

He stated he was upset about his pace not his placing. There were quite a few people that didn’t get the numbers they wanted.

More Ribs and BBQ. Veggie contest in Socal? Anyone? I still want there to be a sushi contest somewhere. I can’t believe that isn’t a major event considering the ever increasing popularity of sushi.

Rhonda-
How can you say that it’s crazy to rank anybody but Joey ahead of Koby? Sure, Koby dominates in HBD’s, but that’s a bad event for Pat. Just because nobody but Joey contends with Koby on his BEST EVENT doesn’t mean that Koby is untouchable in anything else. Pat does better than Joey, or is virtually tied with him, in most other disciplines, which means it’s probably generous to say the same about his standings with Koby in all of the events that he doesn’t compete in. Anybody who says Koby is a better all-around eater than Pat needs to look at more than one or two events. Let’s see Koby challenge Pat in pies, then we’ll talk.

Ethan, you need to learn how to read, before you begin to analyze and criticize what you think you read. But, at least you put your name on your inane comment.
