Luigi's Slice in Sacramento will host a pizza eating contest on August 22 that will award $500 to the winner.
Sacramento area Hooters will host a wing eating contest over the next month. The finals will take place on September 5 and will award a trip to Hawaii for two and the first qualifier will take place tomorrow at Hooters of Natomas.

Free “Fab Five” burger from C-Webb

KCRA has an interview with former Sacramento King Chris Webber in the kitchen of his restaurant, Center Court. The chef is preparing a 44 ounce “Fab Five” burger which Webber says is free to a customer who can finish it.

It is not mentioned if the burger challenge has a time limit and if time outs are allowed if there is a maximum duration.

Woman dies in bladder endurance contest

(Thanks Brian Subich) MSNBC.com reports that a woman died after competing in a contest in Sacramento where the objective was to avoid going to the bathroom while drinking a 8 ounce bottle of water every 15 minutes. The winner would receive a Nintendo Wii.
