Brandon "Da Disposal" Clark ate a record 25 tacos in 10 minutes to win the first prize of $1000 in today's eating contest at Bodega in Miami Beach. Michael Jenkins was runner up. 2017 winner Nate Figgs could not defend his title due to being in New York City.
Bodega South Beach will hold a taco eating contest in Miami Saturday awarding $1000 to the winner.
Craigslist has a casting call for South Florida competitive eaters to participate in a "Ultimate Eating Championship" in June/July.

An official MLE podcast, Men in Boaters, has been started with Rich Shea and Crazy Legs Conti as co-hosts. They call Sam Barclay, the emcee of tomorrow's Nathan's qualifier in Miami, who says that Rene Rovtar will have a female competitor from Winter Park, FL. Eric "Badland" Booker and George Shea also did podcasts earlier this week about the qualifier for Miami.CBSlocal.com.
Eric "Badlands" Booker announces that he will compete in the Nathan's qualifier at the Marlins ballpark on Saturday. Unlike last year's qualifier in Miami, the competition will be held outside the stadium before the game, so there might be the possibility for walk-on entrants which could avoid an all-male field like the 2017 qualifier had.
Nathan Figueroa has uploaded a video of his victory of in the amateur division of Sunday's eating contest at Carnaval Miami where he ate 25 croquetas to win the first prize of $500.

George Shea did an interview on the Hochman and Crowder show in CBS Miami this afternoon and announced Geoff Esper, Darron Breeden and Badlands Booker as expected entrants in Sunday's World Championship Croqueta Eating Contest on Sunday.
The Palm Beach Post has an interview with Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Sam Young in which he recounts his victory at a Rock the Tot tater tot eating contest held at a  Bar Louie location.  
The first MLE contest of 2018 has been listed: El Croquetazo At Calle Ocho Presented By Catalina in Miami on March 11. Registration will open January 8.
Joey Chestnut will start at second base in tonight's All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game at Marlins Park in Miami. His American League teammates include Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson, former catcher Ivan Rodriguez, former Yankee Bernie Williams, former MLB OF Fred Lynn, Jamie Foxx, Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay, Jessica Mendoza of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, Michael Cudlitz of "The Walking Dead" and "Heavy D" from the "Diesel Brothers". The event will be televised tomorrow on ESPN.
Joey Chestnut, Matt Stonie and Miki Sudo will do a hot dog eating exhibition at the MLB All Star Game FanFest in Miami Saturday July 8. The goal will be to establish a record for the most Nathan's Famous Quarter-Pound Hot Dogs eaten in five minutes.
Michael Jenkins reports that he claimed the second place prize of $250 in tonight's taco eating contest at Bodega in Miami Beach. Nate Figueroa won the first prize of a suite staycation and Victor Aldrich was 3rd.

Adrian Morgan wins Miami Nathan’s qualifier

update April 16 Adrian Morgan reports no females competed. I think this is the first time there were no women in a Nathan’s qualifier since the women’s division was started in 2011.
