Several restaurants are holding eating contests that will take place throught football season:
- Battle of the Bone 5 – Phoenix area Native New Yorker restaurants – qualifiers will take place on Wednesdays throughout football season – finals December 8 will award a trip to the Super Bowl
- Court Jester’s – Aberdeen & Freehold, NJ – Weekly hot wing eating qualifiers during Monday Night Football – finals during Super Bowl will award $1750 ($1000 to winner)
- Smoke City Market – Sherman Oaks, CA qualify for Jan 27 contest by eating rack of ribs
- Two Stones Pub – Newark, DE – 10 patrons who eat most foot long hot dogs will get a spot in a Super Bowl party
- The Whiskey Barrel – Gloucester City, NJ – weekly hot dog eating qualifiers will be held during Monday Night Football, final will be held during Super Bowl
Jamie McDonald appears to have won $1000 in the Spicy Wing Challenge held at Buffalo's Chicken Shack in Wood Ridge, NJ today.

Super Scoop Ice Cream in Glen Ridge, NJ will hold an ice cream eating contest tomorrow awarding $100.
NJ.com reports that Adam Balducci won the corn eating contest held at Meadowlands Racetrack on Saturday. Joel Podelsky was third. Joe Menchetti, Pat Philbin and Will Millender were present but did not receive spots. Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, NJ will hold an eating contest as part of its Corntastic Weekend on July 28 awarding $850 ($500 to the winner).

Marcos Owens was the first person to finish the Mad Hatter Platter (4 1/2 lb. burgers, 1 lb. fries & 24 onion rings) at The HAT Tavern in Summit, NJ yesterday.
Will Millender reports that the three person team consisting of Dave "US Male" Goldstein, "Monster" Marcos Owens and Nick "Papa Gorgio" Kehler fixed failed to complete the 16 pound burger challenge at Super Heroes Shop & Deli in North Plainfield, NJ but finished all of the burger except for a small piece of bread. Premio Foods will hold a sausage eating contest at the March 8 New Jersey Devils game awarding two Devils tickets.

MyCentralJersey.com reports that Super Heroes in North Plainfield, NJ has started a 16 pound burger challenge for 3 person teams. "Monster" Marcos Owens won a taco eating contest held at Rugs' and Riffys in Woodbridge, NJ by eating 34 tacos in 10 minutes. Jake Link was the runner up with 24.
Kevin "LA Beast" reports that he completed the five "fat sandwich" challenge at Rutgers University resulting in the addition of the "Fat LA Beast" sandwich to the menu.
