Whoever wrote the Canady-Hickman-Baysox article at the AICE Web site did a heck of a job! It was one exciting, well-written piece! It made me I wish I had been there!

By the way, for what it’s worth, here’s how I would rank the top five independents:

    1. Pete
    2. Joe
    3. Goose
    4. Ian
    5. Elizabeth

It was a great contest at Bowie!!! I hope to have some video up in the next couple of days. I don’t think the video will do the contest justice, everyone was right on top of the eaters, so it was really hard to shoot video. Great job by the eaters and the fans. It was quite amazing!!!

    Thanks for the support Rhonda.

At this time I belong @ #3. In a very short period Furious Pete has Earned #1 & Goose’s record against me makes him #2. Hopefully, i’m not penalized by my overly ambitious eating/travel schedule.

I logged over 1,600 miles driving, 1,400 air miles, including a middle seat on half of that.

I was in 4 contests & a qualifier in 4 days. Thurs nite Bacci qualifier, Fri Bartolini’s Meatballs, Sat Bacci Pizza contest, Sun afternoon Suicide Wings in Dewey Beach, Sun Nite Burgers @ Baysox.

Financially it was a solid trip, professionally it was very diappointing. The only positive I come away with, (professionally) is I tied Goose & Furious Pete in the 2nd two minute round w/11 @ Bartolini’s.

The toll its taken on me physically, almost makes me into a convert that what we do is sport.

In the future, after this weekend I will try to work smarter. Though the Boston Wing contest is tempting, to beat Ian in DE, & Will on Sat, I will likely pass on that one…Joel are listening??

My guess would be that the article was written by Wing Tut.

Its time for the haters to post how pitiful an eater & human being I am.

I know Joe won Bacci Pizza (guessing Wings too ;))

    I won Bacci. $1,500.

A guy who worked there won Suicide Wings w/116. ($500.) I don’t know how much he was really eating, but the girl next to me received full credit for her wings & I would have given her credit (I credit more liberally than most) for maybe 10 of the 40+ she “ate”.

I stopped eating about 12 minutes in w/about 65. Reasons: Suicide wings w/extra,extra sauce, in the heat, not being able to drink anything for the 30 min of the contest, w/my eating/travel schedule, trying to save something for burgers later in the day.(failed at that too)

Has anyone besides me received a parking ticket while sleeping in there running vehicle?? (Dewey Beach)

The good…got shirts for Ian & I with our names (Tod Menchetti??) as prior winners & record holder.

Joe did look pretty done before the burger contest started, but he still ate 5 1/2 burgers. With a schedule like he had over the weekend, I think he did really good.

And yeah, he is a terrible guy. He sat around with everyone, sharing stories and giving tips. And he even talked with people after the event. What kind of person would do stuff like that???? 😉

’twas I who wrote the article…. a few minor changes were made by “the editor” after submission.

“You did good” TBK … You did REAL good!

I could have done no better, and I consider myself a decent writer when I put my mind to it. Congrats again and keep it up!

I think Dale is a very good eater, and I have nothing against him. But I must say this:

That pic of him holding that trophied toilet lid is quite the picturesque metaphor, since his professional eating career went in the shitter.

Thomas Crapper would be proud! 🙂

I put a video of the 2008 Bowie Baysox Burger Bonanza out on YouTube.com. Sorry that it was behind the eaters, but that was the only place that I could get to, as the crowd was just packed in so close to the eaters. It was even hard to walk behind the eaters… The rain messed up having the contest on the first base line…

    Ya’ll can enjoy at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B902TIj8b5g

I would like to say that Tim “Obi-Wing-Kenobi” Cain had a great cheering section.
