The Battle Creek Enquirer has a report on yesterday's Pastrami Joe's Reuben sandwich eating contest. The amount raised for charity, $13,880.67, was approximately twice the 2009 amount of just under $7,000, which Pastrami Joe's owner Mike Caron attributes to dropping the division for professional competitive eaters. Eric “Steakbellie” Livingston will be participating in the “Tough Mudder” 7 mile obstacle course race on May 2 (the day after he competes in the Dorney Park cheesesteak contest) to raise money for the Wounded Warrior project. He has set up a donation link for the charity on active.com.

TheGreatMoomsi.com reports that Greg “The Great Moomsi” Maloomian will attempt “The World’s Biggest Corned Beef Sandwich” at Gus & Paul’s with a partner on January 16. Donations to Open Pantry Community Services are being accepted in conjunction with this challenge attempt.
