"Furious" Pete Czerwinski will attempt to eat 15 pounds of poutine on September 2 to benefit the MS Society of Canada. The food will be provided by Smoke's Poutinerie, sponsors of a MLE poutine contest in May.
McGreevy's in Boston will hold a 25 ounce Big-Mouth Beckett Burger eating contest on August 25. Entrants must raise at least $125 for the Josh Beckett Foundation and the winner will receive a pair of Red Sox tickets from Josh Beckett.
Lucy Bauer, who appeared in a commercial for Kentucky Fried Chicken last year, stars as a competitive eating coach in a video to promote Give Forward's burrito eating contest on July 28.
The Battle Creek Enquirer has a report on yesterday's Pastrami Joe's Reuben sandwich eating contest. The amount raised for charity, $13,880.67, was approximately twice the 2009 amount of just under $7,000, which Pastrami Joe's owner Mike Caron attributes to dropping the division for professional competitive eaters.

Steakbellie to do “Tough Mudder” for charity
Eric “Steakbellie” Livingston will be participating in the “Tough Mudder” 7 mile obstacle course race on May 2 (the day after he competes in the Dorney Park cheesesteak contest) to raise money for the Wounded Warrior project. He has set up a donation link for the charity on active.com.
