A hot dog eating contest at Leo's Coney Island in Macomb Township, Michigan Saturday will award a 32 inch Sony TV to the first person that can eat 10 hot dogs.

The Battle Creek Enquirer has a report on yesterday's Pastrami Joe's Reuben sandwich eating contest. Google News archives has an 1949 AP article about a series of eating contests held at the University of Michigan which culminated in a man vs. hog competition. An unnamed female student ate 12.5 burgers in another event, half a burger short of the listed collegiate record. Dr. Warren E. Forsythe of the university health service described the contests as “disgusting and silly”.

WXYZ.com: Tios Mexican Cafe in Ann Arbor, Michigan will hold a “Mount Nacheesmo” eating contest on November 14 in which competitors will try to eat five pounds of nachos in under 45 minutes.
In other nacho news, the IMDB page for Nacho Mountain, which once listed Joey Chestnut as a cast member, reports it will be released on December 18, 2009. Rick the Manager does appear on the current cast list.

Rockford Corner Bar contest Sat, 1st prize LCD TV
The Rockford (Grand Rapids area) Corner Bar will hold a hold a hot dog eating contest at Comstock 09 on Saturday. The first prize is an LCD TV. The Corner Bar twitter reports that previous chili dog record holders Sharon Van Duinen and Balinda Gould will be present.
