Andrew Lane was the runner up and produced a blog entry and gallery about the contest. “Mongo” Marquez was the victor.
Krista also report a report about the event for urbanhonking.com/truefan

Denver & Dallas Wing Bowls
(Thanks Skinnyboy) Andrew “Skinnyboy” has a blog entry about the Denver Wing Bowl held January 13.
The Dallas Wing Championship Series Finals will take place sometime in the near future. (The second round contest that was supposed to be held last weekend was cancelled due to weather) Last year’s contest had a preliminary contest between teams from Hooters and ESPN Gameday. Here are some pictures from that event:

Liz is working (in Denver)
Congratulations to Liz Kellermeyer who found a (paying) job in Denver after just two weeks of residency there.
Liz moves west (Cats on a Plane)
You would assume a passenger on JetBlue would experience fewer tribulations than a pioneer travelling in a covered wagon, but that assumption does not appear to hold in Liz’s move to Denver.
Colorado jalapeno contest
(Thanks Liz & Anita) The Greeley (CO) Tribune has a report about Saturday’s jalapeno eating contest. The winner, Jerry Esparza, ate 58 peppers in 10 minutes and had to skip the awards ceremony because he was tending to more pressing affairs.
Liz is moving to Denver
In her latest blog entry, Liz of urbanhonking says she is moving to Denver at the end of the month. Hopefully her move will not mean the end of her competitive eating writing career. There are currently more upcoming southwestern contests than northeastern ones.
Andrew “Skinnyboy” Lane profile in Denver Post
The Denver Post has a long profile of Andrew “Skinnyboy” Lane which provides the origin of his nickname. Skinnyboy competed in yesterday’s kolache contest in Nebraska where he finished 4th.
