Bacci Pizza will hold an eating contest in Chicago on September 30 awarding $2500 to the winner. (Previous Bacci contests have been amateur only). Entrants need to qualify by eating two jumbo slices in under 15 minutes.
NowDecatur.com reports that Brandon "da Garbage Disposal" Clark ate a contest record 27 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the first prize at Heinkel’s Hot dog Eating Contest at Decatur Celebration in Decatur, IL.
The Slice Factory will hold a pizza eating competition on September 2 at Taste of Melrose Park in Chicago awarding $3500/$1000/$500. Entrants will need to eat two jumbo slices to qualify.

The Vegan Chicago meetup.com page has no plans to disrupt today's eating contest at the Chicago Ribfest. Last year, they announced their intention to crash the competition on the website.
Registration is now open for the eating contest at the Chicago Ribfest on June 9. A donut eating contest in Santa Monica on June 2 has also been added to the MLE calendar (registration yet to open).

Chicago Ribfest disruption plans changed
Meetup.com still has a post from Vegan Chicago about their plans to disrupt and “shut down” Friday’s eating contest at Ribfest Chicago. They have changed their assembly site from a restaurant to John C. Coonley Elementary School. 16 people have said they are going. 
Miki Sudo, Michelle Lesco, Adrian Morgan, Juan Rodriguez, Erik Denmark, Gideon Oji, Andrew Kogutkiewicz and the winner of a qualifier Thursday at Rocks Northcenter are expected at the Chicago Ribfest June 10.
