GuinnessWorldRecords.com reports that Filipino Ricardo “Rix Terabite†Francisco ate five burgers with 107 gram patties in a minute to break a record previously held by "Furious" Pete Czerwinski. The record attempt required eaters to only use one hand.

Filipino 7-11s to hold hot dog eating contest
7-11 stores in the Philippines will hold a hot dog eating contest this summer. Competitors can attempt to qualify at their local 7-11 on the qualifying dates. The grand prize is 500,000 Philippine pesos ($10,360)
update The contest website is at http://eatingmachinesphilippines.com/. The contest rules do not appear to explicitly require Filipino citizenship. A promotional video of a match beteween Dicky Fellow (a woman) and Katarina Haligi is available.
