Col "The Conqueror" MacLaurin appeared on yesterday's episode of Australia's Got Talent. His stunt was called "disgusting" by NineMSN.com.au. Col has started a competitive eating website at http://coltheconqueror.com/ (via Stephanie Wu).
ABC.net.au reports that a hot dog eating contest was held Tuesday at Casey Station in Antarctica as part of Australia Day festivities. (A July 4 eating contest in Antarctica would probably not be possible since that is in the southern hemisphere winter)
Sven Pelman ate 16 burgers in 30 minutes to win the first prize of $1000 at Easey's in Melbourne. Olle "The Ressler" Ressome also ate 16 burgers but reversed at contest end. Peter Addo defended his meat pie title at Cazalys in Cairns to win $1000.

The facebook gallery of the competition has no mention of the incident.
