Jed Donahue says that Nathan’s representatives told him that qualifier winners must eat at least 18 HDB to reach the finals in Coney Island. The new poll question asks what you think the threshold should be, if any.
Post minimization policy
In order to limit the number of posts and keep all the information about a contest in a single post, I am going to add new links about a contest to the post containing the contest results instead of making a new post for the new link. The sidebar has a list of recently modified posts to show which posts have been changed recently.

New Poll: most hot dogs eaten in any Nathan’s qualifier
The new poll asks what you think will be the largest number of hot dogs eaten at any Nathan’s qualifier. I believe the current record is 32 by Sonya Thomas at Norfolk last year (I am not sure how many hot dogs Kobayashi ate in the 2001 Tokyo qualifier) Joey Chestnut announced on the buffet message board that he plans to attend the Philadelphia qualifier, which is also the closest qualifier to Sonya Thomas, so it might take 35 or more hot dogs to win that event.
