Someone claiming to be Jordan Lloyd, winner of the 11th season of CBS' Big Brother, is listed as having finished the 72 ounce steak at the Big Texan in Amaraillo, TX on May 8. Jordan appears to be the first female 72 ounce steak finisher of 2012. Jordan's boyfriend Jeff Schroeder, another Big Brother cast member, also finished a 72 ounce steak.

Ken Hoffman has a column for the Houston Chronicle about Pat Bertoletti's attempt to regain his gyro eating title and record at the Niko Niko's World Gyro Eating Championship at the Houston Greek Fest Sunday. Adrian Morgan and Matt Stonie are also expected to compete, but Joey Chestnut will not defend his title.

As a competitor in mesquite, texas the true results were: Eric;B.O.B.;Nasty Nate;Gary K.;Bam Bam.
update Apr 29 Erik Denmark posted a picture of the score sheet which listed weights. Apparently the individual trays were not weighed before the contest. The original weight was assumed to be 20 multiplied by the average weight of a wing.

The top 3 in today’s Hooters qualfier in Mesquite, TX:
1) Bob Shoudt 120 wings
2) Erik Denmark 117 wings
3) Nate Biller 100 wings. (It is rather strange that weights are not being announced for a contest that is based on mass consumed and not wing count.)

The “Strasburger” made its debut at yesterday’s Washington Nationals home opener (it will not be available at all home games). The 8 pound burger named in honor of pitcher Stephen Strasburg weighs 8 pounds, costs $59 and has 8,000 to 10,000 calories. The second Strasburger ever purchased was reportedly finished by a two person team. (There are no listed prizes or official recognition for a sole finisher.)

The next qualifiers in the Hooters Wing Circuit will take place in Indianapolis on April 18 (first Hoosier state IFOCE contest since 2006 Indiana State Fair) and at the Real Texas Festival in Mesquite, TX (east Dallas area) on April 28. update Registration for the Indianapolis qualifier will open today at 4pm. The Hooter facebook has a additional qualifier cities (San Jose, NYC, Indianapolis, OKC, St. Louis, Jacksonville, FL & Atlanta). update April 7 The full schedule has been posted.

Yahoo's PostGame has a report on Kobayashi at the South-By-Southwest festival in Austin where he dined with Greg Jennings of the Green Bay Packers and an unnamed venture capitalist.
