Major League Eating DVDs

(From Erik Denmark) A DVD titled “Major League Eaters Vol. 1”, apparently an official MLE product, is available on netflix. Netflix appears to be the only location with information about the DVD.

In another DVD starring a Major League Eater, DVD Talk has a review of “Zen and the Art of Competitive Eating”, which has the following description of the star, Crazy Legs Conti:

Conti is an interesting character. He sort of floats through life by taking these different jobs here and there to pay the bills but shows no real dedication to his employment at any given time. In fact, it’s almost as if whatever particular jobs he’s working at any particular time is little more than a joke to him. The only things in life that he seems to take seriously are the eating contests. This, obviously, sets him apart from your average American, most of who tend to be very job focused and career minded in this day and age.

Conti’s Plate gets an update

(From “Butch”) Crazy Legs Conti has updated his “Plate” column with news of IFOCE events from 2007 and late 2006:

I consider El Wingador to be a true champion and a stand-up guy. I look forward to my next trip to Philly to avoid the cheesesteak and check out his restaurant, El Wingador To-Go. I also look forward to hanging with seasoned pros Wing Kong, Steakbellie, and their families. Any time Wing Kong, a bus, and a stripper pole is involved count me in. They throw up an after party that rivals Dale Boone at the 8-minute mark. Steakbellie is the James Fennimore Cooper of blogging and I look forward to more of his “Leatherwing Tales” www.steakbellie.blogspot.com.

That’s right, Beautiful Brian is going to Coney as the 2007 Civil Service champ. Could it be that in his tenth year of competing Beautiful Brian will walk the catwalk of Stillwell Ave and ascend the grand stage at Coney Island for his debut at the finals? If the stars and spreadsheets align, on June 27th, Double B will rock the Civil Service contest as the lyrical stylings of Stephen Morrissey blare from the speakers. “ Please, Please, Please, Let me get what I want.
