The Nisei Week Japanese Festival announced that it will not be held in 2020, which will also cancel the gyoza eating contest scheduled for August 22 in Los Angeles. The Festival intends to return in 2021.

Round Table Pizza announced that Kevin Ross, Jon Rivera, Jon Davis, Raina Huang and edwardc3523 (probably Edward Chin) are the Reign of Fire finalists and will compete for a $5000 prize on March 28. It appears that Raina Huang received the wild card spot.

Two burger challenges will be offered during Knott's Boysenberry Festival at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA from March 20 to April 19. The "Mega Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner-burger" contains 4 pounds of beef and is topped with 4 chicken breasts and a boysenberry pie. The "WOW Pasty" contains four pounds of hamburger and is wrapped in pie dough. The challenges cost $80 unless they are finished by a single diner.

It does not appear that the Sabroso Craft Beer Taco & Music Festival will take place this year. Sabrosotacofest.com redirects to a different website and its facebook page has no information about a 2020 event. The Dana Point, CA event was the site of the Gringo Bandito Taco Eating Contest, the biggest competition for Takeru Kobayashi.

Raina Huang is featured prominently in a Los Angeles Times article about the Asian Hustle Network. Her father, Wil Huang, is also quoted:

Her new gig as a competitive eater and social media influencer — she’s the star of 600-plus videos — finally has won her father’s approval.

“I’m actually surprised with her character right now, once I got used to her choice,” Wil Huang, an IT engineer, said about his eldest daughter.

Dan Kennedy annouced he ate 20 burgers to win the first prize of $1000 in yesterday's eating contest at Lumpy's Burgers in Antioch, CA. Edward Chin was the runner up and Scott Rubin was 3rd. Previous winners were not allowed to received the first prize money, which prevented Molly Schuyler from defending her title.
