A web site has been set up for the Holly Poultry Wing Wars at http://hollywingwars.com/ The contest will take place on June 11 in Timonium, MD and award ($1500/$800/$450/$250) to professionals and ($500/$300/$200) to amateurs.
Thursday's Cinco de Mayo party in Silver Spring, MD will hold a "Slopper" (a round tortilla ball filled with cheese, meat and sauce) eating contest awarding a $500 Austin Grill gift card to the winner.

UMD wins Collegiate Competitive Eating League National Championship
The University of Maryland won today’s Collegiate Competitive Eating League National Championship. Other teams came from Hofstra and New York University. Ben “El Diablo” Kastner was named Most Valuable Eater. Campus Food UMD has a gallery.

- Baltimore Peter Jackson repeated as winner of the Maki Madness sushi eating tournament at RA Sushi in Baltimore. ABC 2 and Baltimore Sun have videos.
- Chicago Steve “Freight Train” Moss won the downtown Chicago Maki Madness and a woman “La Panda” reached the final four in one Chicago contest.

The 1st Annual Collegiate Competitive Eating League National Championship will take place at the Cornerstone Grill & Loft in College Park, MD on April 16. Colleges will need to assemble teams of 10 eaters to compete.

The University of Maryland student paper has an article about the new competitive eating club team. Phil Fiore, winner of the 2009 Whiz Bowl cheesesteak eating contest, is one of the members. The club's ultimate goal is to have a national championship in May.
