Kevin "LA Beast" announces he finished the 74 oz steak challenge in 25 minutes at Steak & Main in North East, MD and is now retired from eating challenges.
The finals of the 2012 Washington, DC area Wing Bowl will take place on March 1 and award $2,500. Qualifiers will be held at Hard Times Cafes throughout February starting in Springfield, VA on Thursday.
Baltimore.CBSlocal.com has an interview with Mike Solano about the visions he experienced after choking in a crab cake eating contest in Timonimum, MD in September. Solano was technically dead for four minutes and suffered a mini-stroke.
Carolyn Bozman won the women's division of this morning's pancake eating contest at Pete's Grille in Baltimore with a total of 12 pancakes, tying the female record. BelAir.Patch.com has an update on Michael Solano, who had a near death experience and lacked a pulse for four minutes after choking during a crab cake eating contest held September 24 at Michael's Cafe in Timonium, MD. Solano thinks that he might have experienced a mild stroke and received the $500 that was designated for the contest winner.

Alexander's Tavern in Fells Point, MD announces that Caihlin Durkin ate 35 tacos in 29 minutes yesterday to break Julia Woods record of 30 tacos yesterday. After receiving news that her mark had been overtaken, Julia came to the tavern later yesterday night to eat 40 tacos and regain her record.

ZBurger.net announces two upcoming burger eating contests. A June 30 contest in Nottingham, MD will award $2050 in cash and $950 in Z-Burger tokens and a July 1 contest in Washington, DC will award $3400 in cash and $2150 in Z-Burger tokens.

Fish Tales in Ocean City, MD will hold a hot dog eating contest on July 4 awarding over $1000 in cash. Entrants will qualify by eating 5 hot dogs before the contest and the fifteen fastest times will receive slots.
