Patch.com reports that the crab cake eating contest held at Michael's Cafe Crab Ball in Timonium, MD was cancelled after a contestant choked and was hospitalized. Michael's Cafe in Timonium, MD will hold a crab cake slider eating contest at its Crab Ball on September 24 awarding $500 to the winner. Two guaranteed contest spots are still available.

Alexander's Tavern in Fells Point, MD announces that Caihlin Durkin ate 35 tacos in 29 minutes yesterday to break Julia Woods record of 30 tacos yesterday. After receiving news that her mark had been overtaken, Julia came to the tavern later yesterday night to eat 40 tacos and regain her record.

Patch.com reports that "Furious" Pete Czerwinski won yesterday's Z-Burger eating contest in White Marsh, Maryland. David Brunelli was runner-up and Joe Menchetti came in third place.
ZBurger.net announces two upcoming burger eating contests. A June 30 contest in Nottingham, MD will award $2050 in cash and $950 in Z-Burger tokens and a July 1 contest in Washington, DC will award $3400 in cash and $2150 in Z-Burger tokens.

Fish Tales in Ocean City, MD will hold a hot dog eating contest on July 4 awarding over $1000 in cash. Entrants will qualify by eating 5 hot dogs before the contest and the fifteen fastest times will receive slots.

UMD wins Collegiate Competitive Eating League National Championship
The University of Maryland won today’s Collegiate Competitive Eating League National Championship. Other teams came from Hofstra and New York University. Ben “El Diablo” Kastner was named Most Valuable Eater. Campus Food UMD has a gallery.
The prize breakdown for the Holly Poultry Wing Wars in Timonium, MD on June 11 has been announced. The professional division will award $3000 ($1500 to the winner) and the amateur division will award $1000 ($500 to the winner).

- Chicago Steve “Freight Train” Moss won the downtown Chicago Maki Madness and a woman “La Panda” reached the final four in one Chicago contest.
