Joey Chesntut has defended his bratwurst title with at Oktoberfest Zinzinatti with a total of 50 sausages. Former boy band members Nick and Drew Lachey also competed.

RockTheTot.com has been updated with information about a 2014 contest. Bar Louie locations will hold a tater tot eating contest on October 9 and the top 5 will compete in the finals in Cleveland on October 25.

Cleveland.com has a interview with Jeff "The Beast Man" Butler about competing in the Nathan's qualifier in Cleveland on June 29.
Pizza Works will hold an eating contest on July 4 in Howland, OH awarding $500 to the winner.
Cleveland.com calls Jeff "The Beastman" Butler as the favorite for the final Nathan's qualifier in Cleveland on June 29. Molly Nemunaitis is the only other competitor listed.
CVG airport (Cincinatti area) will hold a pie eating contest on May 15 awarding a trip to Tampa Bay / St. Pete (PIE) to mark the start of non-stop service to that  destination.

Flashback: 26.25 lbs. pie poundage promulgated

Joey Chestnut’s 24 pounds of poutine is not the highest weight ever announced for a MLE contest. The initial results for last month’s Mapleside Farms apple pie eating contest in Brunswick, OH claimed the winning total was 26.25 pounds (in 8 minutes).

15 minutes after the first results were posted, the pie counts for all competitors were cut in half without explanation and the previous results were deleted. A screen capture of the MLE twitter with all the results follows

update Oct 23 In Maplesides Farms’ video, (results start at 3:30 mark) the pie counts announced on-stage (8.75/7.25/5.75/5/4.5) are double the official final results. Joey’s weight is announced as 13 pounds
