Guinness has certified the 325 participants in today's eating contest at the Ohio State Fair as the largest field for an ice cream eating contest.
The Ohio State Fair will hold what is billed as the world's largest ice cream eating contest in Columbus on August 3. They hope to have at least 250 participants.

Bickel is the latest — perhaps greatest — of them. He decided early on that his mission would not be merely about himself, but about Cleveland. Some would raise championship banners. Bickel will raise hot dogs.

King of the Wings will hold a wing eating contest in Warren, OH tomorrow awarding $250 to the winner.

Bar Louie has announced the competitors in the Rock the Tot finals in Cleveland Saturday: Ian Hickman, Mark Kolbusz, Raymond Maas, Pete Maurizio and David Wood.
Bar Louie's Rock the Tot page has been updated with information about the 2015 contest. The top 5 totals in contests held at Bar Louie locations on October 8 will advance to the finals in Cleveland on October 24.

Kyle Hanner (16 miles) and Yasir Salem (64 miles) won their divisions in the Tour de Donut bicycle race / eating contest in Arcanum, OH. Kyle Hanner finished with a negative time after receiving a 90 minute deduction for eating 18 donuts during the race.
Cincinnati.com reports that Joey Chestnut, Jeff Butler, Danielle Gioia, Bill Myers and Matt Raible are expected to compete in the bratwurst eating contest at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati on September 20.
Condado Tacos in Columbus, OH will hold a taco eating contest on August 23 awarding $500 to the winner.
George's Lounge in Canton, OH will hold a slider eating contest on August 8 awarding $500 in prizes.

Cincinatti.com has a report on today's coney dog eating contest. Shannon Smith (male) ate 13 frankfurters in 3 minutes to win.
Bleacher Report has a video of Tommy Kraemer attempting a five pound Reuben sandwich at Izzy's in Cincinnati. Another incoming Notre Dame offensive lineman, Dillan Gibbons, won a coney dog eating contest earlier this month.
WDTN reports Aaron Smith ate a 16 inch sandwich in 1:29 to win the first prize of $1,000 in Saturday's Cheesesteak Challenge at the Submarine House in Beavercreek, OH.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports that Todd Greenwald is being sued by one of the co-founders of the Association of Independent Competitive Eaters (AICE) for allegedly reneging on an oral agreement to become partners and co-owners of All Pro Eating. The lawsuit seeks over $25,000 in damages.
The Ohio Deli, site of the Dagwood sandwich challenge in the Columbus episode of Man vs. Food was destroyed by fire early this morning.

Dave Brunelli won tonight’s Rock the Tot finals in Cleveland with a total of 3 pounds and 12.7 ounces. Guinness is crediting that amount a record even though Molly Schuyler ate over 6 pounds in last year’s contest.
