Marco “Mongo” Marquez is at the qualifier, which would be his first MLE contest since the Isle Black Hawk Rocky Mountain Oyster Eating World Championship in 2010.
It does not appear the contest will have a problem with spectators viewing the contest from nearby buildings
There will be a $20 admission fee for spectators at tomorrow's Hooters Wing qualifier at the Mother of All Runs in Farmersville, TX tomorrow (ticket purchase).

Joey Chestnut will compete in Niko Niko's gyro eating contest in Houston May 19. Other competitors include Matt Stonie, Adrian Morgan, Eric "Badlands" Booker, Kevin "LA Beast" Strahle and Nate Biller.
While usually one or two women finish the 72 ounce steak challenge at the Big Texan in Amarillo, TX, each year that was not the case in 2012. According to the finishers list, the most recent woman who finished the steak without assistance appears to be Mirit Ohana of Hollywood, FL in October 2011. (Jordan Lloyd is listed even though she ate the steak with Jeff Schroeder for a reality TV program.)
Hot Damn, Tamales! in Fort Worth will hold three tamale eating contests on April 28 awarding $350 each ($250 to the winners).
Enchilada's in Dallas will hold an enchilada eating contest on May 4 awarding a trip to the Caribbean.
CNNMoney has an article about the "24" menu available at Texas Rangers games which includes supersized hot dogs, burgers, pretzels, sausages and quesadillas. The Washington Nationals dropped their 8 pound "Strasburger" from the menu, reportedly because too many customers "were taking it as a food challenge."
The 24 inch "Boomstick" hot dog will return to the Texas Rangers lineup of menu items for the 2013 season. A 1 pound "Beltre Buster" burger topped with 8 ounces of bacon and a 24 inch “Murph-a-Dilla†quesadilla will also be available.
The finishers list for the Big Texan 72 ounce steak has been updated to include Kevin "LA Beast", who did the challenge on March 14 during his trip to California.

93Q in Houston will hold a funnel cake eating contest Friday awarding Blake Shelton tickets. Entrants need to submit videos showing their eating skills to the station's facebook page.

The Dallas Observer reports that the Hooters wing eating circuit will return to the Real Texas Festival in Mesquite, TX on April 26 & 27. Contest details have not been posted on http://www.realtexasfestival.com/ yet. update The 2013 Hooters Wing circuit will start on March 30 in Panama City, FL.
The Matagordo (TX) Seafood Festival will hold men's and women's oyster eating contests on March 16 awarding $450 ($200 to the winner).
The Fulton, TX Oysterfest will hold a men's oyster eating contest on March 9 and a women's oyster eating contest on March 10. Both contests will award $350 ($200 to the winner).
