The Dallas Observer reports that the Hooters wing eating circuit will return to the Real Texas Festival in Mesquite, TX on April 26 & 27. Contest details have not been posted on http://www.realtexasfestival.com/ yet. update The 2013 Hooters Wing circuit will start on March 30 in Panama City, FL.
The Matagordo (TX) Seafood Festival will hold men's and women's oyster eating contests on March 16 awarding $450 ($200 to the winner).
The Fulton, TX Oysterfest will hold a men's oyster eating contest on March 9 and a women's oyster eating contest on March 10. Both contests will award $350 ($200 to the winner).
Aniceto Mata won first place and a prize of $1,000 with a total of 122 peppers at the Annual Jalapeno Festival in Laredo, TX Saturday.
McFadden's in Addison, TX will hold a wing eating contest at half time of the Super Bowl awarding $200 to the winner.

The National Peach Fried Pie Eating Championship will start in Dallas at 2 pm central. If Jamie McDonald wins, he is clearly the #2 non-IFOCE competitive eater behind Kobyashi.

Tom Gilbert has been added to the field for the Fried Pie Eating Championship in Dallas Saturday joining headliners Eric Dahl, Jamie McDonald and Stephanie Torres. This will be the first meeting between Tom Gilbert and Eric Dahl.
