Burguesa will hold a burger eating contest in three Dallas-area locations Saturday awarding a 37 inch TV.
The 72 ounce steak challenge at The Big Texan in Amarillo, TX will appear in an upcoming episode of Jeff and Jordan do America which will star to former Big Brother participants.
A press release about the National Peach Fried Pie Eating Champion in Dallas on September 29 lists Eric Dahl, Jamie McDonald and Stephanie Torres as expected entrants.

Registration for the Western Days Festival World Tamale Eating Championship in Lewisville, TX on September 29 will open on ifoce.com at 3 pm Central today.
Hooters will hold a Dallas-area wing eating circuit starting August 16 in Irving, TX. The finals will take place at Brew Fest on September 15.
Tortuga Mexican Kitchen Baytown, TX will hold a "Big Juan" burrito eating contest on September 1 awarding a Sony tablet computer to the winner. The runner up will receive $200.
Samantha Torres won the final qualifier for Las Palapas burrito eating contest by eating an Okie burrito in 43.9 seconds in San Antonio.
The Boomstick Express, a vehicle shaped like a giant hot dog, will debut at today's Texas Rangers game to promote the 24 inch "Boomstick" frankfurter.
Kobayashi / Hofmann partnership details
Syracuse.com and DMagazine have articles about Takeru Kobayashi’s press conference this morning where his partnership with Hofmann Hot Dogs was officially announced. Some notes:
- Takeru Kobayashi will own 50% of a new division Hofmann has created to produce a Kobayashi-branded hot dog.
- Hofmann is planning to open a restaurant in Dallas, possibly as soon as September. (Cowboys legend Roger Staubach is another Hofmann part-owner, so that might be the reason for the location.)
- Kobayashi will compete in a hot dog contest against a “ferocious competitor” at the Great New York State Fair on August 25.
Amarillo Magazine reports that Sarai, a female tiger, ate the 72 ounce steak (with no side items) from the Big Texan in 80 seconds on July 4, breaking the all-species record of 89 seconds. (Joey Chestnut set the human record for the meal with side items with a time of 8:52. I think Carlene LeFevre has the homo sapiens female record of around 30 minutes.)
Las Palapas in San Antonio will hold an Okie Burrito eating contest on August 18 awarding $1,000 to the winner. Weekly qualifiers on Saturdays will award $150 and a spot in the finals to the winners.
Curly's Frozen Custard in Fort Worth, TX will hold a hot dog eating contest on July 4 awarding four Texas Rangers VIP tickets to the winner.
The Black Sheep Lodge in Austin will hold a corn dog bite eating contest on July 4 awarding $250.

Today’s Nathan’s qualifier at Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, OK is expected to start at 1 pm central time.
Nate Biller and Bam Martinez along with Pete Davekos and Yasir Salem are expected to compete in Sunday's Nathan's qualifier at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK. Kevin "LA Beast" will be a last minute addition to the field. Mary Bowers will headline the women's division. (A Mary Bowers victory could send the women's wild card into disarray. She appears to be currently leading the female runners-up with 9.5, and it is not clear who would become the top wild card after a win since the women's runners-up have generally not been announced and it is possible that they have not been recorded at all.)
The Hondo Grill in Hondo, TX will hold a "Beast" burrito eating contest on Saturday awarding $250 to the winner.
Turf Sports Bar in Melbourne, Australia reports that Hungry Haydo ate its 2.2 kg (4.84 lb) steak meal in 14 minutes.
Trevor "Macho Borracho" Iordanides won $1000 at a hot dog eating contest held at The Stand in Dallas by eating 26 mini hot dogs in 10 minutes. Trevor will have his image painted on a mural as part of his prize package.
Someone claiming to be Jordan Lloyd, winner of the 11th season of CBS' Big Brother, is listed as having finished the 72 ounce steak at the Big Texan in Amaraillo, TX on May 8. Jordan appears to be the first female 72 ounce steak finisher of 2012. Jordan's boyfriend Jeff Schroeder, another Big Brother cast member, also finished a 72 ounce steak.

Adrian Morgan and Matt Stonie are also expected to compete, but Joey Chestnut will not defend his title.
The Stand will hold a hot dog eating contest in Dallas on June 2 awarding $1,750 ($1,000) to the winner.
Ed Dravecky ate 43 enchiladas in 10 minutes to win a Caribbean trip at Enchilada's in Dallas Saturday.
