The Colorado State Fair, scheduled for August 28 - September 7 in Pueblo, still intends to hold a MLE Slopper eating contest. The could be the first MLE contest open to the public in over 6 months.

The Buffalo Wing Festival Buffet Bowl is currently the next upcoming contest on the schedule on September 5.

Ed Helms on “The Office” Beach Games episode
CheatSheet.com has a post about actor Ed Helms’ memories of filming the “Beach Games” episode for the sitcom The Office. He shares this story about the hot dog eating competition:
“What I remember is eating tons of hot dogs and spitting them into a bucket,†Helms recalled. “For me, the act of spitting chewed food out of my mouth activates my gag reflex. It was so upsetting.â€
The Office star described the nauseating visual that came along with putting the scene together. “The worst part is the prop folks are walking around with a big plastic bucket and like four people are spitting into it. You have to spit out, but you’re looking at other people [doing the same thing]. It’s just disgusting.â€
Matt Stonie signs with Night Media
Business Insider reports that Matt Stonie has signed with Night Media for exclusive representation and will be managed by Nick Brotman. Other Night Media social media personalities are Mr. Beast and neekolul, famed for her “OK Boomer” video. Brotman intends to pivot his client away from YouTube:
“Matt has been someone I’ve had my eye on for a while as he’s been consistently doing crazy numbers for years,” Brotman told Business Insider. “After getting to know him it was a great match. He’s interested in branching out from just creating YouTube content, which aligns with our philosophy of creating larger businesses around our clients’ influence.”
We will see how this deal affects Matt’s relationship with Major League Eating. Expulsion from the top 50 has been the traditional indication that a signee has fallen afoul of the MLE contract. Matt currently remains ranked at #3.
