The Hard Times facebook has some information about the Washington, DC area Wing Bowl. Ryan Smith won last Tuesday's Wing Off qualifier by eating 68 wings in 10 minutes. (The January 14 Wing Off results have not been posted)
Singer Jason Derulo ("Whatcha Say"), one of the opening acts on Lady Gaga's current tour, has uploaded a picture of his friend Sharon attempting to eat an 80 ounce steak at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. (He has not posted if she finished it.)
Bergg vs. Food reports that Bergg broke the record for the three pound "Triple Undisputed" burger at Weiner & Still Champion in Evanston, Illinios. His time of 13:50 broke the record set earlier this week by 21 seconds.

Tickets for Wing Bowl 18 can still be purchased on ComcastTix one month after they went on sale on December 15. All previous Wing Bowls (14-17) requiring tickets sold out in three days at most.

The blog for Weiner and Still Champion reports that Dan Pagliuzza set the three pound burger record with a time of 14:11, about half of the previous mark. Bergg will attempt to rebreak the record on Saturday.

The blog for Big Al's in Vancouver, Washington reports that no one has finished its seven pound "Big Foot Burger" challenge, which will award a prize package including a 46 inch television to the first person to complete it in less than an hour.
DennysBeerBarrelPub.com has posted its first challenge finishers of 2010. Joel "The Cannon" Podelsky was the only diner to complete a three pound "Super Challenger" burger.
StarTribune reports that former heavyweight boxing champ George Foreman visited the Twin Cities for his birthday and dined at all three restaurants featured in the Minneapolis episode of Man vs. Food.
IFOCE.com announces registration opens tomorrow for the March 20 Catfish Eating Championship at Rhythm City Casino in Davenport, Iowa.

Las Vegas Wing Bowl to award $2,500

Hooter’s of Las Vegas (South Rainbow location) will hold a Wing Bowl on February 6 that will award $2,500 cash and a ring valued at $2,500 to the winner. Entrants can qualify in weekly Wednesday night qualifiers starting tonight. ILoveLasVegas has more information.

Valerie Feri completes “Fat Mac” challenge for new Food Network program

PatriotLedger has an article and gallery on the recording of a Food Network program at the Fat Cat Restaurant in Quincy, Massachusetts. Six diners attempted to complete the “Ultimate Fat Mac Challenge” which consists of 6 pounds of macaroni and cheese. Valerie Feri, who weighs 120 pounds, was the only person to complete the challenge in under an hour. The upcoming program was also the subject of a local television news segment.

Ms. Feri’s feat will be seen on “Outrageous Food Challenge” which appears to be a new series. Aaron McCargo Jr., winner of season four of the “Next Food Network Star”, will host. The episode is expected to be televised in April.

The LATimes reports that the winner of a jalapeno eating contest held during tonight's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs had a reversal of fortune on the arena video screen.

Grace Lee of Atlanta GSpots will compete against former NBA center Jonathan Kerner in a 5 pound burrito eating contest at the Cantina in Buckhead, Georgia on January 22.
Westword reports that Virgilio's Pizzeria in Lakewood, Colorado has started at 10-11 pound pizza challenge which awards $100 and the cost of the pizza to a diner that can finish it without help or bathroom breaks in under 2 hours.
