The first episode of the second season of Outrageous Food will be televised on the Food Network tonight at 10 pm eastern. The restaurants will be Mallie’s Sports Grill and Bar in Southgate, MI (meal 100+ pound burger), Bad Boyz Bistro in Bedford, PA (meal hot wings) and Three Brothers Bakery in Houston, TX (meal pies baked into cakes). Spanky's in Leesburg, Virginia (west Washington, DC area) will hold a "Hell Night" on Saturday. The first person to eat 10 progressively hotter wings will receive $100. The event will be recorded by the Food Network (probably for Outrageous Food).

"Casting calls" for hot wing eaters on two upcoming episodes of "Outrageous Food" have been posted: Badboyz Bistro in Bedford, Pennsylvania needs five people (3 men and 2 women) to eat its "Hellraiser" wings on January 3 and Rock Rest in Golden, CO is looking for hot wing eaters for recording sessions on January 9 and 13.
The Daily Mail reports that a greenhouse in Cumbria, England has developed the Naga Viper pepper by crossing three spicy peppers. The pepper has a Scoville rating of 1,359,000 and can reportedly strip paint.

Boulevard Blast in West Chester TWP, Ohio (North Cincinnati area) will hold a hot wing eating contest this weekend. Heats will be held on August 13 & 14, the finals awarding $500 will take place on Sunday. The contest will be judged not by speed or amount, but by who sweats the latest after eating wings that increase in spiciness.
LBs Burgers in Las Vegas has created a poster for its "Undertaker" burger, which consists of 11 patties topped with bhut jolokia sauce. The burger received its name when Ron "The Undertaker" Koch was the first person to finish it last year .
