Ellis Island Casino in Las Vegas will hold a pretzel eating contest on October 29 awarding $500 to the winner.

The Sacramento Bee reports that Pat Bertoletti, Erik Denmark, Ron Koch and Damon Wells are expected to compete in the rib eating contest at the Nugget Rib Cook-Off in Sparks, NV on Wednesday. Joey Chestnut and Matt Stonie are possible competitors.

An IFOCE rib eating contest has been held in July at the Chinook Winds Casino on the Oregon coast. There does not appear to be any information about a 2011 contest on the casino website.

Johnny McGuire's Deli in Las Vegas announces that William finished the 24 inch sub challenge in 5 minutes and 50 seconds. The previous record according to Andrew Lane's picture of the Wall of Fame appears to be Tom's 10:42. (Rich LeFevre's times were 18 & 20 minutes). Aubrey (probably the 2-time B3 burrito finisher) claims to have finished the sandwich challenge.

Las Vegas Weekly has a report about competing against Las Vegas Magazine in a team pickle eating contest held as an undercard event in last Friday's pickle competition at the Mirage.

- 42: Number of people who finished the burrito in under 90 minutes
- Over 4,000: Number of people purchasing the burrito (according to a yelp comment)
- 6 minutes: Record finishing time by Joey Chestnut
- Other announced sub 20 minute times: Ben Monson 12 minutes, Matt Stonie 15 minutes, Shawn Cochran 19 minutes
- 38 minutes: Announced Women’s record by Stephanie Torres (This forum thread says her women’s record was broken in January, but does not give the name or time.)

Ellis Island Casino & Brewery will hold qualifiers today and May 19 for a hot dog eating contest on May 28 awarding $1,000 to the winner.
