Athena0985 reports that Joey Chestnut bought four racks of ribs yesterday, possibly to practice for tomorrow's rib eating at the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off in Sparks, NV.
The Sacramento Bee reports that Pat Bertoletti, Erik Denmark, Ron Koch and Damon Wells are expected to compete in the rib eating contest at the Nugget Rib Cook-Off in Sparks, NV on Wednesday. Joey Chestnut and Matt Stonie are possible competitors.
The Burger Joint at the Flamingo in Las Vegas is considering adding a burger challenge to its menu.
Pearce Cleveland announces that the Liquid Pool Lounge in Las Vegas will hold a cherry pie eating contest on Thursday awarding $1,000 to the winner.

An IFOCE rib eating contest has been held in July at the Chinook Winds Casino on the Oregon coast. There does not appear to be any information about a 2011 contest on the casino website.

Johnny McGuire's Deli in Las Vegas announces that William finished the 24 inch sub challenge in 5 minutes and 50 seconds. The previous record according to Andrew Lane's picture of the Wall of Fame appears to be Tom's 10:42. (Rich LeFevre's times were 18 & 20 minutes). Aubrey (probably the 2-time B3 burrito finisher) claims to have finished the sandwich challenge.

The Sahara in Las Vegas, site of the NASCAR Cafe, closed yesterday. Here are the final statistics from the NASCAR Cafe’s B3 Burrito challenge according to public information:
- 42: Number of people who finished the burrito in under 90 minutes
- Over 4,000: Number of people purchasing the burrito (according to a yelp comment)
- 6 minutes: Record finishing time by Joey Chestnut
- Other announced sub 20 minute times: Ben Monson 12 minutes, Matt Stonie 15 minutes, Shawn Cochran 19 minutes
- 38 minutes: Announced Women’s record by Stephanie Torres (This forum thread says her women’s record was broken in January, but does not give the name or time.)
- 2: Most times finishing burrito by Aubrey (might be other unpublicized multiple finishers)

Eating Las Vegas reports that Joe LaRue won today's pickle eating contest at the Carnegie Deli at The Mirage in Las Vegas. Stacy Hamilton says that Joe ate more than four pounds of pickles.
Ellis Island Casino & Brewery will hold qualifiers today and May 19 for a hot dog eating contest on May 28 awarding $1,000 to the winner.

Some thoughts before the qualifier:
- Sonya Thomas Nathan’s debut was 18 hot dogs in 12 minutes with no previous eating contests. Juliet Lee ate 28 in 12 minutes after competing in the IFOCE for almost a year.
- Unresolved questions about the women’s division: Will Sonya Thomas receive a bye since she is the women’s record holder | Will there be a women’s wild card? (if two women exceed 10 hot dogs at one qualifier)
- The differential between the men’s and women’s Nathan’s prizes has been receiving some critical media attention: Time | Eater.com | Jezebel
In the latest MLE podcast, Lea Cooper of the NY NY Casino in Las Vegas lists some entrants in Saturday's Nathan's qualifier: Stephanie Torres (making her MLE debut), Adrian Morgan, Sean Gordon and his father, Ron Koch, Dan Allard, Jason Scarincio and former beauty queen Christine Kitchen-Masters (sp?).
