The Block Magazine has an interview with Takeru Kobayashi where he discusses the events at the 2010 Nathan’s finals in more depth than he previously has. Kobayashi’s participation in the 2011 contest appears unlikely:

Even if I were to win the competition [2011 Nathan’s], I don’t think I would feel good about participating in an event held by an organization that has such little respect for me. It wouldn’t be any fun.

DNAinfo reports the Carnegie Deli has added a Carmelo Anthony sandwich with a price of $21.95 to its menu in honor of the newest New York Knick. The deli added a sandwich named after LeBron James this past summer to encourage him to sign with the Knicks. update TMZ has a picture

The League of Amateur Competitive Eaters announced the Burger Bowl at the Burger Bistro in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on February 5. Four competitors who have not won any money in an eating contest in the past decade will attempt to eat as many sliders as possible in five minutes.
