The last Central or Mountain time zone qualifier was at the Iowa State Fair in August 2019.
Mercer County Outlook reports that Nathan Klein finished the Willow Warrior Challenge at the Willow in Celina, OH to claim a $250 jackpot. The challenge consists of 2 Bag O Burgers, 1 Big Daddy Fry and a Quart Shake.
Skyline Chili in Cincinnati will hold a green spaghetti eating contest on March 17 awarding two Bengals tickets.
Joey Chestnut ate 39 pierogis in 2 minutes during halftime of tonight's Cleveland Cavaliers game, defeating a team of three amateurs who combined for 23. It was originally announced that recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce would compete, but his participation did not materialize. update Full ESPN video of the contest.
The Lansing Community Center in Bridgeport, OH will hold a donut eating contest on February 10 awarding $150/$75/$25.
Barley House in Cleveland will hold a Super Bowl (February 11) cannoli eating contest awarding 2 Cavaliers tickets and a VIP Experience at Barley House. It will also hold a wing eating contest awarding a $250 gift card and a Barley House merchandise package.
Leo's at the Slice in Middletown, OH will hold a pizza eating contest on February 23 awarding $500 to the winner.

The Heritage of Flight Festival will hold a wing eating contest in New Carlisle, OH on October 7 awarding $150 to the winner. The runner up will receive $100.

A pie eating contest is not currently listed on the upcoming events page for Destination Outlets in Jeffersonville, OH. A MLE pumpkin pie eating competition has been held at that site the previous two years.
Joey Chestnut will face off against a team of 3-4 northeast Ohio celebrities in an apple cider donut eating contest held at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick, OH on September 24. The event will raise money for the Remarkable Youth Foundation. Mapleside Farms held a MLE apple pie eating contest in 2013. update Cleveland.com has an interview with Joey Chestnut about the event.
Oktoberfest Zinzinnati will take place in Cincinnati this weekend. Its schedule lists neither a MLE nor an amateur bratwurst eating contest.
Joey Chestnut will appear at the Newport, KY Hooters on August 29 and attempt to eat as many wings as possible in an hour. The event is to promote an all you can eat wing special available for $15.99.
