Joey Chestnut will face off against a team of 3-4 northeast Ohio celebrities in an apple cider donut eating contest held at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick, OH on September 24. The event will raise money for the Remarkable Youth Foundation. Mapleside Farms held a MLE apple pie eating contest in 2013. update Cleveland.com has an interview with Joey Chestnut about the event.
Oktoberfest Zinzinnati will take place in Cincinnati this weekend. Its schedule lists neither a MLE nor an amateur bratwurst eating contest.
Joey Chestnut will appear at the Newport, KY Hooters on August 29 and attempt to eat as many wings as possible in an hour. The event is to promote an all you can eat wing special available for $15.99.
Bristol Republic in Columbus, OH will hold a hot dog eating contest on July 20 awarding $500 to the winner.
Cherish Brown wrote a post for Food Challenge News about qualifying for the Nathan's Famous finals at a Dayton Dragons game earlier this month.

Joey Chestnut will appear at the May 27 Toledo Mud Hens game. He will do one minute eating exhibitions for both cotton candy and ice cream.
Pat's Pizza and Pub in West Jefferson, OH will hold a pizza eating contest on June 3 awarding $250 to the winner.
Registration open for 2023 Nathan’s qualifers
Registration is now open for four Nathan’s qualifiers awarding a spot in the July 4 contest to the top male and female finishers.

update Registration for a June 17 qualifier in Cincinnati will open May 6 at 9 am. This places 3 out of the 6 announced qualifiers in Ohio.
Nathan’s qualifier May 13 in Kissimmee, FL
A facebook event page claims that the first Nathan’s Famous qualifier of 2023 will take place May 13 at Old Town in Kissimmee, FL (south Orlando). BBQ in DC will also hold a qualifier in Washington, DC on June 24. The traditional New York Mets Father’s Day qualifier might also return. Nathan’s will sponsor the giveaway promotion for their June 18 game, which has previously been a hint that a qualifier will take place during the event.
update April 21 A press release says there will also be qualifiers in Cincinnati on June 17 (probably a Reds game) and Pleasanton, CA (probably a return to the Alameda County Fair)
Registration opens today (April 21) at noon eastern for the Kissimmee qualifier.
Flat Iron Cafe in Cleveland will hold a wing eating contest on February 8 awarding $100 to the winner.
On December 16, Piada Italian Street Food in Easton, OH will hold a spaghetti eating contest inspired by the movie "Elf". The pasta toppings will be maple syrup, chocolate syrup, marshmallows, M&Ms, rainbow sprinkles and a Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tart.
In an eating contest held during halftime of tonight's Cleveland Cavaliers game, Joey Chestnut ate 47 pierogis to defeat three amateurs who combined for a total of 33.
