Joey Chestnut, who has won the previous 10 contests, will apparently not defend his title. update Joey Chestnut says he will be having leg surgery on Thursday and will be out of competitive eating for a while.

The field for the Destination Outlets World Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship in Jefferson, OH on October 10 has already been determined and will include Joey Chestnut, Geoff Esper, Darron Breeden, Miki Sudo, Nick Wehry and Gideon Oji.
Sandusky, OH will hold a donut eating contest on October 9 awarding $500/$100/$50.
Registration will open on September 22 at noon Eastern for the Destination Outlets World Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship in Jeffersonville, OH on October 10.

Nick Wehry has posted the field for next Sunday's Zinzinnati bratwurst eating contest in Cincinnati which includes himself, Joey Chestnut, Miki Sudo, Geoff Esper, George Chiger, Matt Hazzard and Bartley Weaver.
Oktoberfest Zinzinnati announced the return of the World Brat Eating Championship to Cincinnati on September 19. Joey Chestnut is expected to compte.
A team consisting of Kyle Hanner, Derek Jacobs, Yasir Salem and Holly Titus won the Tour de Donut, a bicycle race in Troy, OH that deducts 5 minutes for every donut eaten on the course.
Nathan's Famous is not currently listed as a presenter for any promotion on the Cincinnati Reds 2021 schedule. From 2017-2019, the Reds held a hot dog eating qualifier in the middle of May, with the game's giveaway item being sponsorer by Nathan's.
The May 15 Cincinnati Reds game will be presented by Nathan's Famous, so that is the probable date for the 2020 Ohio qualifier. Nathan's will present the August 16 St. Louis Cardinals game, which would be on the 2020-21 circuit if a qualifier is held then.
