The Dallas Observer reports that the Hooters wing eating circuit will return to the Real Texas Festival in Mesquite, TX on April 26 & 27. Contest details have not been posted on http://www.realtexasfestival.com/ yet. update The 2013 Hooters Wing circuit will start on March 30 in Panama City, FL.
McFadden's in Addison, TX will hold a wing eating contest at half time of the Super Bowl awarding $200 to the winner.
Wingstop will hold an Atomic Wing Eating Contest at ZestFest in Irvine, TX Saturday awarding a large screen TV.
The Dallas representative for Wing Bowl 21 will be selected on trash-talking about Philadelphia teams instead of competitive eating ability. Four competitors (Dallas / Fort Worth area residents only) will be selected this week for a "trash talk off" on January 18 that will determine the overall winner.
McFadden's in Addison, TX will hold a wing eating contest during halftime of tonight's BCS championship game awarding $200 to the winner.
Duff's in Southlake, TX will hold a wing eating contest awarding two Dallas Cowboys tickets to any home game as part of its grand opening celebration on November 16. Receiver Dez Bryant and Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders will be in attendance.

The National Peach Fried Pie Eating Championship will start in Dallas at 2 pm central. If Jamie McDonald wins, he is clearly the #2 non-IFOCE competitive eater behind Kobyashi.

Tom Gilbert has been added to the field for the Fried Pie Eating Championship in Dallas Saturday joining headliners Eric Dahl, Jamie McDonald and Stephanie Torres. This will be the first meeting between Tom Gilbert and Eric Dahl.
SCNTX has a preview of Saturday's tamale eating contest in Lewisville, TX containing an interview with Tim "Eater X" Janus. Joey Chestnut, Adrian Morgan, Yasir Salem and Nate Biller are other listed expected competitors.

Kobayashi / Hofmann partnership details
Syracuse.com and DMagazine have articles about Takeru Kobayashi’s press conference this morning where his partnership with Hofmann Hot Dogs was officially announced. Some notes:
- Takeru Kobayashi will own 50% of a new division Hofmann has created to produce a Kobayashi-branded hot dog.
- Hofmann is planning to open a restaurant in Dallas, possibly as soon as September. (Cowboys legend Roger Staubach is another Hofmann part-owner, so that might be the reason for the location.)
- Kobayashi will compete in a hot dog contest against a “ferocious competitor” at the Great New York State Fair on August 25.
Curly's Frozen Custard in Fort Worth, TX will hold a hot dog eating contest on July 4 awarding four Texas Rangers VIP tickets to the winner.
